I would also challenge people to take a real listen at the background music that is playing. It is always extremely emotional manipulative. We've known for a long time how to get people to feel certain things through music. Hack documentary filmmakers have been exploiting that ever since.
Sad thing is though Jimmy could have been investigated properly earlier buuuut... https://theneedleblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/jimmy-saville-and-jersey-police.jpg?w=500
man, michael jackson had a hell of a fucked up upbringing, if you can even call it that. it's not fair to blame the oddities he had on him and him alone
Honestly I was on the side of MJ being a pedo until I had one of my youtubers that I subscribed to (who is a hard MJ fan) dig into the bulk of the claims.  Now he's obviously a biased man but his consensus was that the lawyer going after MJ - twice - was the same lawyer from both the 80s and later the 2000s, that he settled out of court the first time because he had other things he was concerned about (my guy says he should have fought back legally), that it's a bit strange how none of his supposive victims came out about MJ badtouching them - except years later after he's long dead and they realize they can get some dosh out of it Actually fuck it, if you don't mind some moderately right-wing skeptic defending MJ for 50 (!!) minutes, going over the claims by the accusers and thoroughly debunking them for what they are (abusive parents and lawyers trying to siphon dosh from the king of pop) then go ahead and watch this. It's actually enlightening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pnoQqlygQs Like one of the claims, right? "MJ and my son slept in the same room together" would actually be troubling. Except that MJ's bedroom was the size of a two-story house, with multiple beds. Er…
You just gotta come to the realization that anything Rusty says is to just be a contrarian and an asshole. Read, laugh, move on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I like to give people nuance when it comes to their posting habits, but that is on the nose about Rusty's posts
mans been dead for 10 years suckout it aint worth it
That's kind of a fucked up thing to say, especially about this issue. I'm not being a contraction. Most of the time my posts get a ridiculous slew of agree ratings. There's just a few key issues where a lot of people here disagree with me, then they label me as some kind of contrarian asshole. I'm not being a contrarian about my own abuse and identifying truth in other victims and seeing the truth in the behaviour of an abuser. If people want to say I'm a dumb asshole and that MJ is innocent, sure, I can't stop ya. But to call me some kind of contrarian troll about this is just hurtful. At this point I don't want to argue any more. I'm just going to be an advocate for people to a totally watch the documentary. That's all.
You do this, or just disappear, every single time anyone tries to argue with you or talks back to your posts. How is anyone ever supposed to take you seriously? I don't believe you have more "agree ratings" than not in the majority of your posts. Really, you pick a lot of threads that you can come in and talk shit about without having any knowledge or facts to back up your arguments, and once called out, POOF, gone. But hey, I'm biased. I've never thought you were a decent member, even when you were a mod.
Good thing i have all the old box sets. Also they should of ended a while ago considering quite a few of the original people that worked on this series died and the voice actors are terrible now then before.
so i've had a couple days off and watched the documentary now. all i have to say is i feel sick and betrayed. i collected this guys music, defended him just like people would considering the media scramble. but now that the main fucking dudes who testified in his defence finally admit their truth, I feel nothing but disgust. and now corey feldman has pulled away from defending him, literally the only person in the defence of mj is macaulay culkin and IF he had any doubts whatsoever, that's solidly cemented his legacy for me. so these personal attacks on rusty and others defending him are pathetic. by making up bullshit about his bedroom when there are countless videos of mj saying it's ok to sleep with children in his bed and one where he admits coercing another into bed. I'm sorry there is no underpants from 30 years ago to prove hard evidence that you desire. But if you care at all about doing your own proper research on the matter, watch the documentary. It is vital.
So what is in the documentary besides people "telling their truth"? Surely you will be able to provide the material evidence required to substantiate anything.
it's not some trash documentary either, it is a high quality hbo production. a company with a lot of grit that doesn't really allow a flow of crap on their network.
But you went into it already believing Michael Jackson was a rapist because he was weird. That's not neutral at all. I don't have 4 hours to watch a documentary, but you and Rusty have done a terrible job at convincing me the documentary is anything but shitty appeals to emotion with no actual facts. "It made me feel sick. You should believe everything they say even though there are no facts." I've seen plenty of documentaries that have looked convincing because of how they present their subject which I've later discovered were mostly or entirely bullshit, I need more than just anecdotes and emotional manipulation to believe what they have to say.
"""Documentaries""" have been sufficient evidence to convince people that the earth is flat so "it's a documentary" holds no weight "Dude you need to watch the documentary it's CONVINCING" is the hallmark of someone who watched a documentary, was emotionally convinced, but was left completely unprepared to actually back up their statements beyond "uh... watch the documentary! it answers all your questions! so I don't need to!"
could you quote me where i said he was a rapist pre- watching the documentary. i'm not trying to convince you of anything, it's a discussion forum. quite frankly, i dont care what you believe janus.
This was in response to HumanAbyss's absolute, steadfast, 100% assertion that Michael Jackson was an irredeemable child rapist. Don't pretend you weren't shitting this entire thread up just a few days ago with this bullshit AK'z.
humanabyss is not my personal jesus
Nice reading. Thanks for that. When you say "Yes I agree with your posts thanks for the sanity", and that post is 100% dedicated to "Michael Jackson was absolutely a rapist", who the fuck do you think you're fooling? Do you actually think you're being clever or fooling anyone?
The doco is pretty compelling. Obviously we'd only know for sure if he did it if he were still alive and confessed. I'm not going to make an assertion one way or the other. But the almost fanatical defence of MJ and spreading of misinformation to disprove the doco that I've seen on here and social media is kinda weird and counterproductive.
The idea that "We can't take anecodes as definite proof" and "There is literally no material evidence to prove the claims, so we shouldn't make assumptions" is considered fanatical defence is fucking retarded. No one in the thread 'defending' Michael Jackson is saying "He absolutely didn't do it and anyone accusing him is obviously a liar", just that we shouldn't drag a man's name through the dirt without definitive proof, and stories aren't definitive proof.
??? there's 3 pages of this starting from page 1 of you implying he raped kids.
dude, there are about 5 instances of mj saying he slept with children in his own bed. this is already widely accepted and noted since 2001... and then there's one where he inadvertantly says he slept on the floor while the child slept in his own bed. which billionaire would sleep on the floor of their own house... but rather than arguing semantics of my own posts where i never used the word rape, can someone shed some actual thought on the matter.
so if you are not completely sure he didn't do it, why do you feel his name is too important to not discuss it. literally the reason that he was acquitted is admitting his truth. and it is worth hearing. it's not a shit documentary.
what happened with Apu?
They're retiring the character because of racial stereotypes
An Indian-American made a documentary film about Apu and began discussions about racial stereotypes.
Imagine watching a documentary that features a man that called himself a 'master of deception' and has clear financial motive and then turning around and saying the opposite side of the argument spreads misinformation. Up next: Believing Fox News because of one 'emotionally compelling' titbit of info. (Also the argument about trusting the documentary because it comes from HBO is hilarious. You mean, HBO would never have a documentary solely because they know controversy = lots of viewers?) Moreover, just a lil' semantics argument - you use the term 'misinformation' but then attempt to portray people on this forum as pushing a 'fanatical' defence. You're a pot calling the kettle black, Mr. Misinformation, and I see you've fallen into the realms of How Twitter Users Construct Arguments 101 - if I defend Person A, I'm clearly Person A's biggest fan, and I'm only doing it because of my personal feelings towards Person A. OR, people don't believe in conspiracy theories that argue that MJ was able to puppet both the FBI & actual courts, nor can they put all their faith in barely credible victims. Or, as was my main argument, 'weird' is not evidence of a crime, and I have more faith in the FBI than a documentary that has only been cited as 'emotionally compelling' that highlights MJ being 'weird'. You are free to have your own opinion, but I would trust literally zero of the people that have argued 'MJ is pedo' in this thread to be allowed near a court of law, since they clearly don't understand how evidence works. If you're really determined to follow the Twitter method of arguing, please make sure to next argue 'If a random, albeit very weird, man on your street was accused, would you believe it?', because that definitely hasn't been regurgitated several times. It speaks volumes that barely anyone in this entire thread has been able to construct an intelligent argument that even slightly proves MJ = pedo, and instead keeps yelling 'HE WEIRD! WATCH THE DOCUMENTARY! UHHHHHH DON'T POINT OUT DISCREPANCIES, THEY ONLY EXIST BECAUSE MJ MADE THEM DO THAT'. I understand how manipulation works, but we've reached a point where we can seemingly argue 'I was manipulated' for everything, and I see that a large proportion of people have swallowed that up without taking a moment to question it. Also, riddle me this, Batman: why did Robson previously try to get £1.2 billion from the Jackson estate? 'To get his life back', is that the excuse we're going to go with? 'Uhhh...justice!' I can't believe that we actually have a man that boasts about his deceptive nature and also has clear financial motive but stubborn people just look past that. The same people that have argued "MJ is weird, he was clearly weirdo; is it a huge leap to say he pedo?' cover their eyes and ears when confronted with the scummy person that is Wade Robson.
owlz, mj begged robson to defend him in 2003. if now his original testimony is thrown out, mj innocence has no leg to stand on. the documentary is more than just two people saying their peace, it is their entire family and their involvement in this. if he is scummy to file a lawsuit against the estate, what about the estate's counter-lawsuit against the filmmakers. If MJ was alive he would have won the case anyway, he lost only on technicality. Plus what about the safechuck guy? He had a mental breakdown and it was in wade's confidence to speak out that made him involved in this film. There is no hard evidence but we are talking about abuse, and very powerful people. People who had cameras and alarms outside the hallways of their bedrooms. I want only those directly involved to have a say in his defence because everyone else has no right to say shit. Corey Feldman is now doubting his innocence and won't defend him. He was a very close friend to MJ too in his childhood and HE understands being abused because he was abused himself. Now the only one who is left to talk out is Macaulay Culkin..
You're ignoring the context in which he said that. He claims that Michael Jackson made him into a 'master of deception' because he was coached during his abuse and had to lie about it for years to the public. You can't argue that someone is a self admitted liar if you also claim that what they say they were lying about was actually the truth and they were never lying to begin with.
