Hah, holy shit this is fucking unreal. Its like I'm looking in to an alternate dimension or something.
The poptart and sunnyd posts are something I'd expect to see from tumblr or something before tumblr became shitified. Its funny when its users coming up with this sort of stuff, there's a touch of humanity to it It just feels soulless and wrong when corporations stoop to what is essentially 'tumblr' levels of trying to relate with customers. It doesn't feel right, just comes off as concerning.
WOKE. BRANDS. https://youtu.be/06yy88tLWlg Honestly this shit needs to end.
I dunno man I don't think I like a multi-million dollar company pretending to have depression to sell more drinks
Should Arby-Loli catch on then I don't think they'll keep her nonsexual for too long!
People will lewd literally anything, that's why the term "Rule 34" exists. That's not really on Arby's.
Wow look at all this company loli I found. Companies are so fucking disgusting https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/337897/0634055b-182e-4522-ab8e-d8d580dbfa9c/image.jpeg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/337897/d574c276-430b-4d65-bcc3-ebbdf38d1800/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/337897/c5afa2f4-5190-4edf-837e-a5854376f0bb/image.jpeg
I can't believe there are so many child porn companies!
In an age before internet, we had innocence.
Uh oh... I think you've just unearthed some repressed memories... I had to find a five year old post and then use the wayback machine to fix the image link https://i.imgur.com/Fd0he3T.png Im so sorry for my cringy past self
Arbys didn't trick anyone into drawing anything. They gave artists a subject to draw, and many gladly did so. Artists aren't dumb cattle.
Arby's is resorting to a "waifu" because despite all that beef, they still can't roast as good as Wendy's.
Literally all this post does -- besides playing a card you said you weren't going to play -- is show that you are biased. We don't ask the family of a murder victim what we should do to the murderer because they are biased. Your emotional connection to this issue invalidates your argument; it doesn't strengthen it. It's become clear for everyone to see that you're emotionally overreacting to something -- understandably so, for you as an individual, but that doesn't mean you're right.
I think some of these are pretty funny tbh https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1MMTX7U8AIYriB.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1NXb2aWkAIf9xB.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1KbBx3WoAAprqO.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1KO41cWkAIM0L5.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1K3VxLX4AEuk9E.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1K_v_QW0AAFawc.jpg:large
Wow look at all that child porn
The feds are going to knock on Garry's door again how could you do this.
it's both lol, they aren't mutually exclusive
If I can play devil's advocate for what seems to be a weird corporate PR stunt: I don't really think was something drudged up by a bunch of old guys in suits aiming to make a fast food brand relatable. From what I've seen of Arby's social media team, it's a bunch of nerdy folk that enjoy pop culture and using their position to pay ode to the things that they like. I don't think this went through committee; I'm pretty sure what happened was one of them was trying to figure out what to do with a sauce packet and stumbled onto this idea that everyone liked, so they just posted the picture with a few hashtags to see what people thought. If they start plastering their fastfoodsona on everything after this, I'll consider it sleazy. Right now, it's just a silly drawing in the twitter-sphere. Not especially corporate or malicious.
This reminds me of when "Wendy" came back to roast people after like a year of irrelevance and it felt like a low effort grab at attention again by starting shit with people
Arbysona's can be placed into three distinct categories. Anime references: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1MxBrMU0AYCIhc.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1O2bs_X0AA-NIo.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1PJ5FSWkAAHliN.jpg:large Lovecraftian horrors: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1N73DlU8AAoQJz.png:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1O9zRkWoAA5y6I.png https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1OjyVHWwAEBgNK.jpg:large And old people: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1Mw8CQVYAMolQl.jpg
Yeah, that's great. Lets just put a cute face on a fast food franchise, one that has to abuse and misuse its workers because the upstairs people tingle in delight. This free art really helps out the ground level workers, I'm absolutely certain that this helps them at all as we guffaw at pointless corporate memes trying to paint oppressive dickholes as light hearted fellow shit posters. Or we get caught up in some stupid loli debate to pat ourselves on the back for 'protecting childzren' or 'freeze peach'. What does it matter that these companies already swim in cash until things go wrong and then the only people hurt are the workers.
Oh come on, people are having fun making fanart like the ones above your reply, don't be so grumpy about it.

I'm not denying that the Arby's social comms team might be pop culture nerds, but there is no way that stuff like this doesn't pass a committee before being published. Especially in a multinational company like this. The issue isn't that they would attempt to plaster this everywhere, the issue is a wider one that's far more complicated than I think most people are acknowledging. We have entered the peak Brand era of corporations. Brand value has always had importance, but with the memetic nature of modern social media Brand value is now more important than most other forms of value. To the point that there are companies that have literally pulled themselves and their reputation out of the dirt, without improving their operating practices or the quality of their product in any way. Look at the Sonic the Hedgehog twitter account - Sega is still a largely unscrupulous company, and Sonic games are still for the most part not up to par in terms of quality, but the Sonic IP definitely has far more value now than it did prior with very little to actually defend that. And this is definitely one of the least egregious forms of Brand Value acquisition - I think the Sunny D one might be my least favourite as it's using Depression based humour popular among the youth due to sky high mental health issues in an attempt to cynically gain appreciation from that target market - but using terms like Waifu in this case there is no way this campaign was put out with zero cynicism. Memes et al are contemporary propaganda. If you sell someone something in a meme-y form they are far more likely to take it on board. Arguably memes got a fellow into the white house, and having a bit cheekily gained access to a couple of closed facebook groups for political party youth wings, I can tell you all they talk about is the correct way to harness memes behind anything they want to push. that a corporation doesn't know this and wouldn't take advantage of this is sadly impossible
I dislike "woke" companies but this is just kinda cute and the fanart is hilarious.
dont make fanart bro, ur a slave to the capitalist machine man /s
No fun aloud. Business is bad. Chibi is Satan making you a pedo.
Corporations are our friends.
Of course not, but going to the extreme to be angry about some artist making fanart of a company mascot is really silly.
Oh yeah this is so much fun. Its fun giving free advertsing because 'memes' to a company that actively campaigns against a living wage, who abuse and force their workers to just miss full time hours through scheduling fuckery while this same fun company abuses medicaid and SNAP to avoid paying a full decent fucking wage. Its fun supporting a company whose workers on averate work 2 to 3 jobs to just barely make it. Its fun supporting a company who actively is helping destroy natural habitats of endangered species for factory farms that are killing the planet just so they can charge cheap prices to shoppers. Man this is fun, Not totally unjustified in being a grumpy man watching a bunch of morons who will regularly post about how companies and the wealthy need to pair their fair share BUT WOHOHO THERE'S A MEAT HORSE GUYS. ISN'T THAT WACKY. Its easy to forget that these companies aren't rrying to relatable, they're trying to fool you so you can sit there and spend money at their stores. It plainly shows how vapid and shallow the support for the working man is here; its easy to preach it and then turn around for that hallow chuckle of a meme that in the long run is about as useful as a fart.
