You've convinced me
Charge Back
The developer is offering refunds for anyone unhappy with the decision, if you read the article
How did you get all the way here from the 1st post without reading anything?
Oh, are they? You can just request a refund? Man, if only I had spent multiple large posts detailing exactly this fucking system. Fucking rich dude Try reading the thread before asserting that nobody read the article.
I thought I was editing a post in another thread.
Yes, and its a third party that wants my Bankning info that isn't in the United States and informed me that it'd take up to 4 weeks. I'm doing a chargeback.
Gollop has single-handedly murdered his career and fractured the careers of all his public-facing staff, and honestly he's made me wonder if X-COM was just a fluke.
Since Geel is banned and I'm not sure people are checking his reddit thread: **UPDATE** Some time after posting this -- and without further word from Snapshot -- I recently received a refund for my credit card payment, in exactly the way I desired and is required of Snapshot. It would seem that Snapshot Games does indeed have the necessary information to refund direct credit card payments; I am not sure why they initially refused and said they couldn't, but it's entirely possible they were simply misinformed. I am hoping they will extend this option to other customers as well, as it will save _everyone_ involved a lot of time. It is my HOPE that they were simply MISINFORMED about the ability to refund my credit card payment, and will soon be offering this style of refund to all customers who request it and paid with a credit or debit card. At this time, I have been fully satisfied re: my refund request, and I feel they are not doing anything wrong _specifically_ in the refunds department, as long as they learn from MY experience and offer this refund without great difficulty to others who request a refund. I of course still have MAJOR misgivings about their recent decisions in general, but they were exacerbated by a terrible refund system, which will hopefully be improving. So it seems that Snapshot do in fact have the ability to give refunds without resorting to a third party service and simply... haven't, or have obstructed that for reasons unknown. Fig allows you to get refunds in this situation, if you backed there, without resorting to a third party service, and if you paid by other means or ordered it later, they appear to have the ability to do it. They just... didn't. Which is either incompetence or a deliberate obstacle thrown up to try and prevent people claiming refunds.
In a lot of these circumstances the lower to mid level staff have no authorization on refunds and will lose their jobs if they do, and the upper management is probably either being stonewall, unapproachable and hostile, or straight up refusing.
