God 2019 is off a great fucking start for video games. Minus Anthem.
All current Xbox titles that are available on PC through the Microsoft Store do not require any paid subscription to Xbox Live, so it will be fine.
If you've got Windows 10 you likely have an Xbox account already, so long as we don't have to pay to play online I have no issues with this.

I've never played Halo but this seems like a great excuse to start.
Games that use Xbox Live on PC never have had a requirement to pay for Gold, they figured out this early on when Halo 2 was originally released with GFWL, which required Gold, but they took that requirement out.
Halo CE was the first PC game I was truly obsessed with. The series as a whole is very dear to me, so I'm overwhelmed with joy right now. Thanks for making my day, Microsoft.

Aside from security updates, Microsoft has no obligation to keep developing for an antiquated 10 year old OS that they themselves have pushed past, and even those security updates will be ending soon as Windows 7 has reached its end of lifespan. They are not forcing you to switch to Windows 10. It's entirely your choice to keep using an outdated OS or not. Stop blaming them for your want to stay on an older OS. If you don't like them not releasing stuff on their older platforms, then either switch to the new one, or don't play the game. You have that choice.

Imagine if we got proper mod support. I'd be in heaven. Still though this is fantastic! Microsoft has really done something I thought would never be done.
I'm guessing by "Halo: Reach Remastered" they simply mean the game is optimised for PC, seeing as we don't even have a Halo 3: Anniversary edition.
Well, its remastered in the sense they added better lighting, better textures and runs at 60fps/4k whatever you want.
Maybe even the FIle Share system. Having access to what's been made, remade and/or restored on console would be both a massive headstart for PC players and fantastic for cross-platform creations.
It's been a long time since I played halo ce on pc, and I've never played any of the other games.

Hmmmm. I wonder if Reach on PC is gonna let you disable the weird ghosting effect thats on the 360 version. That's the main reason that keeps me from replaying it, even on backwards compat. In fact, the ghosting is even worse on a full HD TV.
