you expected them to respond "yes, it is!" considering that they don't even fully own the ip anymore?
Friendship ended with valve, now warner brothers is my best friend
It's probably going to get bogged down by microtransactions and it will fail like Evolve did
I would like to hope they learned a bit from Evolve, also IIRC wasn’t take 2 responsible for a bunch of the microtransaction and a bunch of bullshit for evolve too?
Truthfully, I think L4D1/2 had the perfect amount of randomness with the item spawns and dialogue. There were even some cool randomized crescendo events like the church guy in Death Toll. But I think it would be interesting to see the director switch up entire choke points depending on how well your team is doing. Maybe something like that would help keep interest in players who otherwise thought the games were too linear. Valve pretty much abandoned the L4D mapping wiki and most of the info on there is from the community. I remember years ago having to email Chet Faliszek himself asking how the survivor dialogue worked in the campaigns since there was nothing about it on the wiki. (Surprisingly he actually replied back with a bit of help.) Not to mention the .vpk system was a huge pain in the ass to set up and ship.
You're kidding yourself if you think a Warner Brothers published title will have mod support.
I was never the biggest fan of left 4 dead personally however ANY news in relation to something approaching new Valve game related that is in their original golden age spirit is positive even though it is not really Valve in this case.
Of course it isnt literally Left 4 Dead 3, that'd be ridiculous, they'd get sued.
Probably not, but I can dream. L4D was always my favorite game to map for and I would love a more modern version to work with.
At the same time it throws some nice shade at Valve for not continuing the L4D series. I love it.
Would be nice if someone released a game about Garden Freechman who fights the comboones.
WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT Yeah, I'm gonna be cautious as fuck regarding WB. Also no mod support, so this game's lifespan will automatically be less than half of L4D's. Evolve's failure was 2K's fault entirely.
Yeah, I feel like they can't say yes even if they wanted to
Kinda disappointed they're just going with a zombie theme again. I get it, but I'm just sick of zombies.
I just saw this news late; but this is potentially great news. Lately gaming has had a lot of good stuff being announced for it. The only thing that'll hamper this announcement is if it ends up being Epic exclusive. Don't fuck up TRS.
My interest for this is completely dead just because of no mod support.
Didn't see this posted, but one of the devs posted that the game was going to be on Unreal Engine 4 https://i.imgur.com/2ZeGlbh.png
Both are good but 2 just expands upon it with much more content
Also, Deep Rock Galactic.
Hmm UE4? Hoping that doesn't correlate to Epic launcher exclusive
