If you have 2-factor enabled the sentry files are worthless, fyi.
That's why the new one is encrypted.
"""Encrypted"""
as soon as i read that there was some funky chinese merger involved with epic i uninstalled the launcher. yay for being justifying paranoia!
Christ epic went through my entire steam folder even my God damn screenshots What the fuck
Hold up, so EGS was potentially (most likely actually in this case so far) swiping up login tokens? Fuck that noise, I'm glad I only had it installed for about a day or two because fortnite just didn't appeal.
As for the XOR encryption, steam's vdf files are just plaintext.
I'm not gonna lie, Epic's reaction to it just pushed me further to the idea that they're giving info to the Chinese.
Man, all this just for a fucking TBS game.

Imagine if Sergey Galyonkin is behind all this. He made quite the noise when Valve disrupted his Steamspy site by making data private by default. Then he started at Epic in August 2017 and now gets the missing data from the Epic launcher, disregarding peoples privacy settings on Steam. I'm surprised he still makes 14grand on his patreon for Steamspy, while working for Epic. Not actually serious with this, just a fun connection that popped in my head when people brought him up.
I guarantee Sergey is behind the data-scraping
