I'll be okay with 4chan/8 chan staying up as long as it closes /pol/ and seriously clamps down on the radical right wing infestation on the website. People have died, we can't sit on this problem anymore and hope it goes away.

False. He didn't just decide to one day get up and kill dozens of innocent people. He was radicalized over the course of years online and it climaxed here. He even said it's something he's been planning for 2 years and he posted his shit on /pol/ and engraved his guns with memes. Those who have dehumanized minorities, leftists and other groups the far right don't like have helped mold this mindset and it's only going to get worse, he alone is not responsible for this. That being said, I don't think PewDiePie has anything to do with this and is innocent completely, though he should take the opportunity to shit on the alt right and tell them to fuck off.

Disney also fired James Gunn over ancient joke tweets they were aware of when they hired him because the alt-right does literally exactly that. Also he didn't make tons of anti-Semitic comments all over the place. He paid a group on fiverr to recite an edgy joke.

I feel like 4chan gets a bad rep sometimes. Yeah you have god awful boards like /pol/ and /b/ in the early years, but the vast majority of the boards there are pretty innocent for the most part. I can't talk about 8chan because I've never used it, but I'm sure that site deserves the terrible reputation it gets.

/pol/ has infested the rest of 4chan. You can't go anywhere without running into /pol/ memes. From my understanding, 4chan is bleeding money fast. Hiro should just cut 4chan entirely. There's nothing left of value from 4chan.

I rarely think removal or censorship are proper solutions, but suspending access from 4/8chan is probably the right call for the time being by NZ. Moving forward I hope this can be at least a step towards removing /pol/ for good. I think it'd be healthier for the other boards in the long run as well since after the /pol/sters get tired trying to dodge moderators in the other boards, they'll whittle out and have to find a more isolated place for themselves, which ideally won't have the same large platform they currently have in their current form.
