We aren't talking about FP as it currently is though, I agree with you completely that these scumbags wouldn't last a day here. We are talking about a hypothetical situation laid out by Smurfy where Facepunch's moderation and admin team is ruled by people who are alt right sympathizers, where they are completely okay with them doing their shit. I don't read tabloids. Yes not every single 4chan board is filled by /pol/ users but you can't deny the infestation that has taken place. Go to /v/, /tv/ or many of the other big boards and tell me you don't see the far right memes and hate speech there. /pol/ has had free reign to do whatever it wants and it's making 4chan worse and worse. The far right users would create a extremely hostile environment to any views not their own. They would hound other users and make them feel unwelcome, in this situation it's not far fetched to assume they would also be appointed as mods in the future and start looking for whatever reason to ban people they don't like. If we had dozens of users cheering on the death of innocent people, encouraging terrorist attacks and just doing all round awful shit across the site, it wouldn't matter how good some parts were. We would be completely compromised and beyond the point of no return especially since the mod team would be seeing no problems. Yes this is dramatic but this is again assuming we allow for this sort of situation to unfold, which as it stands is not happening ever as long as we have good moderation. Obviously if a small enclave of fascists popped up right now I wouldn't call for deletion of FP, but we aren't talking about some small enclave we are talking about a majority of the site being irredeemably shit.
it was a link to the breitbart homepagr, no comment with it.

What a legend. I'll love to think I could have a inch of this man's bravery in these sort of awful situations but chances are I'll be scared frozen and unable to move.
Let me try to explain this - one last time. Beginning with some truths: 4chan ≠ /pol/ , /pol/ ≠ 4chan The vast overall makeup of 4chan outside of the /pol/ board is not /pol/ related. It's not a matter of "some" of the website being "uncontaminated", it's most of it. The everyday users of those boards did nothing wrong, and despite any beliefs you may have about net positives resulting from the sites deletion, those users do not deserve to have their boards deleted. Now, Regarding these concerns of infestations of neighbor boards. Should /pol/ be deleted, the other boards would not actually become worse. Moderation in other boards is sufficient to withstand any possible refugees and related content, and with the anchor board of /pol/ gone, /pol/ users will eventually have no more reason to use the site for political purposes at all. Putting these all together? You can delete /pol/ and achieve your goal, without needlessly deleting 4chan. You can delete /pol/, and see if the problem is solved, and if not, you can call for harder moderation and achieve your goal, without needlessly deleting 4chan. It's not a matter of "too little, too late", it's a matter of "what makes the most sense to do now". And it sure as hell isn't deleting the entire website. There is a continuum of increasingly harsh actions to take, and you all are jumping straight to the far edge right off the bat. Seeking the deletion of the entire site is a knee-jerk reaction, poorly conceived, and highlights a clear lack of understanding towards the site and concern for the rest of it's innocent users.
This man committed an act of bravery in a single instant than most people do in their entire lives. I hope he's remembered as a hero. I hope even one person managed to escape because of his actions.
Killing /pol/ would kill a significant amount of traffic on 4chan. It has to be one if not the biggest board. You can't just simply delete /pol/ without thinking the huge repercussions that would follow. I get why people think /pol/ needs to die(trust me it's a shit hole I'd rather it be dead myself) but you can't just kill a vital piece of traffic/revenue/user base.
It's important not to just let them have it either. Makes no sense to try to "give" terrorists the largest yt channel in the world by pretending pewdiepie had anything to do with this nutjob. Because of this there are even bigger ethical issues when news outlets try to pin this shit on him, it's indirectly supporting what they're pretending to be against. Lots of journalists are scumbags who don't care though, they just want that pewdiepie is a terrorist clickbait money. This shit is too common, we just had someone do a banme because he was so angry everyone wasnt condemning pewdiepie last page.

...But, the majority of 4chan is not irredeemably shit. It's literally just /pol/ (and /b/ to an extent, and the people from there that occasionally leak out. Even when that happens, outside of /pol/ I often see people posting /pol/-shit getting called out on it, especially on places like /a/ or /jp/ (to say nothing of the smaller boards like /c/ /e/ /ck/ /an/ etc where that kind of stuff just doesn't happen period) I agree with /pol/ being deleted, hell I've been saying it since 2016. The whole of 4chan? Sorry dude but, no.
I would like to note the asterisk looking thing on the rear of the barrel, which resembles the symbol of the Garda de Fier, a former Romanian ultra-nationalist movement which contained many references as to how the men of Romania were "emasculated", allowing for the "colonisation" of the nation by Jewish folk amongst other things https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/59/Guardiadehierro.svg/400px-Guardiadehierro.svg.png
Ask that before innocent people are murdered.

If they're breaking the law, sure, but if you want talking about shit like how happy you are about a mass shootings to break the law you need to change US law significantly. The idea behind 8ch is they only ban illegal content and otherwise each individual board is given absolute freedom within that law, it looks like they are trying to delete anything making direct calls for violence. This isn't UK law you're dealing with where even jokes get prosecuted, maybe you'd like it to be but it's worth understanding there is no "law proof shield" needed when the law is already being followed.
Far from the truth lol. There’s rules in place to keep dissent and unjerk to a minimum. With how Wild West 4chan is I’d sooner expect a legitimate conversation to take place at pol than t_d, albeit laced between shitposts
this is a goddamn nightmare that will only get worse.
Everytime I look at it it’s spam about what sites to scatter to if you support the attack because of 8ch admins deleting and banning them

"1 charge of murder" with "more charges likely". You literally have video proof of him massacring people and you are going to charge him definitely once, and maybe 2-5 times? Fucking appalling. Also note to all the journalists who are plastering his face all over the media today; "He was looking around particularly at the media present." Congratulations, you've given him exactly what he wants in exchange for views on your shitty article you fucking morons.
They have no choice but being transparent or it will be a "cover up"
There was a photo of him doing the okay hand below his waist and dipshit journos are spouting it as a white nationalist symbol. There’s also threads on the newchan they’re spamming talking about what other memes to co-opt like Pepe. They want us fighting meaningless memes to not only ruin them for us, but to make their reach appear farther than it is, and use memes to radicalize. This isn’t a theory, this is an actual guide I saw.
Plastering his face is NOT being transparent. They are doing it for clicks/views... I have no problem with them reporting it, but if you look back really early in this thread someone posted a video of a criminal psychologist who says he has constantly told news companies; Don't use their face. Don't make it about the bodycount. Don't make the person an anti-hero. Don't start the report with sirens. Don't run 24/7 reports on it. Yet all these news companies completely disobey every single point because they obviously have more experience with criminals than a fucking criminal psychologist. As long as the media continues to break those points above, shit like this will keep happening because it enables other people. I have no problem with them covering it, but they should do what that psychologist said; Local reports about what has happened just so that everyone is informed. Support lines and such for people who need it. Announce ways you can help or support people involved. Segment no longer than 10 minutes.
Wouldn't surprise me; I got that impression fairly early on, even before his manifesto (plus the responses of others as you mention in your post) confirmed it.
This is a good point, completely agree. I wasn't very clear whether it was being covered too much or because it was covered at all.
"currently faces one charge of murder" ONE... FUCKING... CHARGE!?! Can anyone send me a full video of him shooting at the mosque, please? You can send me a link on steam and I think I'm fully prepare to endure my sanity and guts.
I'd highly recommend you don't watch it, it will do nothing except cause you harm. Also, it's against the rules anyway.
I know, I'm just furious that he's only faces one charge of murder and I feel like the judge didn't do a good job or something. So yeah, you're right.
This shits giving me anxiety cuz I’m starting to feel like a lot of shit is a twisted propaganda. Remember that video that spawned Carl the Cuck that made a joke out of people talking bad about trump early on? Guy who filmed it and talks in it was/is an infowars employee I recall. Or shit like Joey Salads and his fake race relations experiments. I begin to wonder if outrage culture is a false flag to make people against these guys look like clowns/babies starting shit over little things. even now there’s a call to ban t_d on /r/againsthatesubs or whatever and the pinned mod comment for the thread is a bunch of shit trying to paint pewdiepie as an enemy. I’m suspicious of that mod, and of the pewdiepie thing in general being a red herring. It feels like it’s for getting people to be distracted by talking about him, while causing doubt as we begin to look crazy frothing after him, making it easier to get more members as we look insane and unreasonable fighting some YouTuber for getting name dropped
They're charging him with 1 count of murder so they can hold them. As the evidence is processed and admitted to the court system then more charges will come. You have to realize the legal system has to keep their shit together, if they fuck shit up they can fuck up the entire case. If they violated his rights the case could easily get thrown out.
he's done the "okay" hand sign haha awesome. ffs these cunts truly are homogenous, basement dwelling morons. the endless spewing of memes layered between brainwashed racist rhetoric is so pathetic. I haven't read the so called "manifesto", nor do I ever want to, but it's safe to assume it's just more masturbatory rambling. these armpit internet echo chambers are tools for radicalisation, and they need to be removed, plain and simple. it's no longer a matter of "free speech", I honestly don't consider this to be even remotely defendable.
Now I feel more sorry, but I'm also learning something.
