I can't believe how much trolling and baiting this motherfucker has done, yet retards fall right into it, especially the media
And about the video..., goddamn, I don't know what to feel of myself every time I watch something like this and I literally feel no emotions at all, I've seen too much shit
It's typical to become desensitized to shit like this if you've already seen a ton. The best thing to do still is to not watch it. Even if you don't consciously feel anything, this is the kind of stuff that will haunt your subconscious.
I once watched a video of a kid whose body was mostly skeleton, at the time it didn't phase me much but the image still haunts my mind to this day. I'll never forget it. Do yourself a favor and don't watch gore videos.
Pointing out that someone is using memes common in the alt-right circle of the internet because they're common in the alt-right circle of the internet isn't "falling right into it", the only people being japed are those insisting that any sort of analysis is just someone being trolled by a joke.
I don't really watch such videos often, I've become desensitized to many things, including death, I can't express any emotions when someone I know dies, it's just become too common, but for videos and such I don't know the cause, probably shit that I've seen irl.
Does that include him saying subscribe to pewdiepie and the various articles condemning pewdiepie because of it?
Sounds pretty horrible man. My heart goes out to you and I hope you find yourself in a better place soon.
Nazi's are always giant fucking pussies, go figure
Twitter checkmark, once again, proving it gives you brain damage.
Or he's simply just a terrorist sympathizer. I remember there being some people having sympathies for ISIS when they had their resurgence. I silentbanned them all permanently. There's no purpose of keeping terrorist sympathizers on this board. It's beyond freedom of speech.
let's not subject the world to orwelian measures because of a few people
People like him don't deserve a platform to spread their edgy bullshit. Making light of tragedy where 50 people lost their lives is no laughing matter and should be dealt with accordingly.
I wasn't entirely serious, just meant that the comments made on this subject made me wish I knew those people and could make my opinion of them known.
So recently I've been noticing a trend with people calling PDP a Neo Nazi or someone who platforms alt-right rhetoric and at first I didn't understand exactly why. (The people who were doing this had no research to back them up, but merely reacted to what the shooter said giving me no chance of discovering anything about PDP that I haven't seen before).
I was almost quick to help distance Pewdiepie from the shooter... but I decided to do a little research about controversies surrounding PewdiePie and immediately I'm redirected to a Vox article that talked about a controversy in which Pewdiepie promoted a Redpilling channel that disguised it's content by comedic Youtube titles (ones that would make you think it's a YTP) in a very long video. The Vox article linked another site which talked about controversy in which PewdiePie had paid someone to raise a "Death to all Jews" sign as part of a "prank" (more sinister now that I think about). I will include sources right at the end of my post just for any of you who need to see it for yourselves.
The hashtag #subscribetopewdiepie was a viral hashtag that surrounded this controversy to which PewdiePie decided to try and put and end to around the time (possibly to help shave off the image of being a Neo-Nazi platforming channel), but there's no mistake that the shooter is using it as a dogwhistle to other Neo-nazis, and it's also no mistake that Pewdiepie has a fair share of blame for it. Now if you search it, it'll have so much talk about the shooter instead of Pewdiepie's originally controversies.
Also on that Redpilling channel, the channel PDP recommended used footage from the Charlottesville car attack that claimed the life of Heather Heyer as part of it's examples for discussing rules on a particular thing in Death Note. The channel also had a backup channel called "PUNISHE;R" that had put out videos that contained anti-jewish rhetoric and even included an uninterrupted four minute hitler speech inside of it with no comedic value attached. - This is viewable on the last link. Pewdiepie boosted the channel significantly when promoting it, and edited his video to remove the shoutout (but by then it's too late everyone knew what the channel was called anyway so PDP could probably save some face with some fans by removing it from the video).
Vox
"Death to all Jews" stunt
Youtube video detailing E;R redpilling channel that PDP promoted and gave about 45,000 subscribers initially
I really thought nothing of Pewdiepie originally, but I'm starting to have second thoughts about him.
I think that taking what he said at face value and pretending that we know everything is a bad idea, given how folks from these groups seem to operate. It seems like he intentionally packed as much "noise" onto the signal he was sending as he physically could, to make sure that the media would have a lot to be distracted by. This would make the manifesto easier to not publish and make a big deal out of, because it's one of N things that the shooter said as possible.
This isn't flaming.
Take it to forum discussion in GD.
Probably because people doesn't trust Vox or those kind of media to report neutrally on matter like those, and is an extremely biased source.
Especially since he is the biggest Youtuber, and putting "Alt-Right" and "Pewdiepie" in a title makes a lot of clicks.
For example, the original title for the vox article was :
"PewDiePie’s ties to white supremacy spell serious trouble for the future of YouTube"
And now it's :
"YouTube’s most popular user amplified anti-Semitic rhetoric. Again."
I'll let you guess why it was changed at a later date.
And yet, the current title is still dishonest, but the original title has a clear agenda in mind.
Obviously, there's still a lot to criticize about that article, like the original choice of pictures, using tweets from literal who to further the argument, but fact is:
There's clear trend with those Left-Biased media source using clickbaity title, misrepresentation and opinion pieces when talking about him.
Anyone actually watching Felix knows what kind of content he put out. These incidents are few and far between, while he upload Daily.
I personally didn't see Vox reporting on JonTron's huge mishaps, or calling out the actually damaging channels.
Anyway
Please remember that the actual "bad guys" here are those who defend the attacker's worldviews, promote conspiracies on a daily basis, and use actual Alt-right rhetoric everyday. Falling for the attacker's trap of shifting the attention is making him win.
Please, fight against actual White Supremacy/alt-right/neo-nazi rhetoric.
This is an actual crisis, not an other controversy to blame on someone.
This definitely is not the Pewdiepie thread.
Discussion about Pewdiepie is completely pointless. There was a passing mention of him, but that's just a meme reference.
If you seriously want to discuss controversy surrounding him, I suggest you take it to another thread.
Can we add another person's critical thinking to the Vox kill count?
So apparently the NZ government is requesting information from Kiwifarms about people that are discussing the video. Owner tears them apart for attempting to infringe on civil rights.

Thought this would be relevant as a forum community ourselves.
Good thing he did, those people can be put in jail for having the video in their possession
Yeah. Spreading the video could be considered borderline propaganda spreading/promotion of terrorism... but news media is giving endless coverage of it and violating all of the principles discussed in this thread for preventing future shootings. I get what the NZ government is trying to accomplish but going after individual internet users is stupid, unjust, and a waste of resources.
And then they come back with a warrant from the FBI.
Josh certainly seems like a Grade A asshole, but he's an asshole I'm happy to have on our side.
This. We're terrible at it and we wasted precious time on it. In fact the NZ Police had apparently been warned about some of the members relating to that Gun club the guy was a member of.

"You're a small irrelevant island nation"
"your faggot law"
"Fuck you and fuck your shithole country"
cool dude.
What a dickhead. About what I'd expect from Kiwifarms, though.
For real, if Kiwifarms is US based the NZ government can always get in touch with the FBI and have them get a warrant for the info they need. I bet this Joshua character would be singing a different tune if he had the FBI sending him an email based ultimatum.
Mind giving a short summary for those of us out of the loop?
This guy is a cunt.
It's a site primarily centered on mocking autistic people on the internet
