James Gunn Reinstated For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ 3 By Disney ..
Fucked without him, you know
Seriously did not expect this, especially after so long
Gunn’s return to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 got complicated when he signed on to write and direct the Suicide Squad sequel for Warner Bros and DC. Marvel Studios has agreed to commence production on Guardians of the Galaxy 3 after Gunn completes Suicide Squad 2. Making the whole thing easier though was the fact that Marvel Studios never met with or considered any other director for Guardians of the Galaxy 3, despite speculation that Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi and Vicehelmer Adam McKay were in the mix.
Color me surprised. Really didn't expect them to turn around on a big decision like that. Good on them
probably because they saw he was nabbed by DC, then theyre like "shit we just threw away one of the good ones"
Seriously, I don't think I would have gone to see it at all if they got anyone else to direct it. I don't think any other director could match how he makes them
I saw that he was rehired months ago officially, but there're only now announcing it. Waiting for the Fox merger to be safe?
Disney owes him a fucking apology.
Not only that but for a really stupid uproar by, as typical for these things, a very small minority of people
Its just the modern soccer-mom bullshit
It probably helped, it showed no one really cared about the tweets he made.
Eat shit, Cernovich.
Wow, Disney admitting they made a mistake?
Your telling me he gets to finish the best MCU trilogy and still get to direct The Suicide Squad?
Fucking magnifique, everybody wins
wow i cant believe mickey mouse is a nazi
I think you mean Donald Duck
Not an edit
genuinely thought this would never happen and gotg3 would never get made
Get fucked Cernovich, you great steaming twat.
Yeah, but it's provided without context,
That was an anti-Nazi cartoon.
A potential investment risk involving a large franchise and the director behind it is ejected in the opening hours of a huge purchasing deal, then reversed in the closing hours of said deal. There's not enough reaction images in the fucking world to describe how much  I'm doing right now.
Breaking news: Disney caught with their pants down
I'm so glad actually -- the whole debacle last year was infuriating.
Bet Kevin Feige fought tooth and nail to get him reinstated.
I had a feeling there was a plan in place to cycle him back in and that he was only dropped for a time for temporary PR that totally backfired anyway
What a horrible monster.
Funny enough on Sunday, after seeing Captain Marvel with friends and family, I told my boyfriend I expected Disney to ask Gunn to come back after he was finished with Suicide Squad.
I would not be entirely surprised if it turned out this decision was at least partially influenced by the alt-right campaign against Captain Marvel and the film's box office success in defiance of it - that it may have lead Disney to decide exactly what kind of audience is more lucrative to them to be catering to.
Ultimately, the MCU regaining one of its best creatives and weird alt-right nerds gaining nothing is a victory whatever the likely cause.
(the licensed music choices for both GOTG movies are all really great.)
I'm out of the loop on this one. What does Cernovich have to do with this?
