Obsidian's "The Outer Worlds" spotted on Epic Game Store

Even if that was real, it is not excuse to lie to us, the consumers. They lies to me, now I changed my mind of buying their game.
I honestly can't understand why you don't see the negatives in this situation.
it would, but they have no intention of ever doing that
they're vehemently against any community features - no forums, no reviews, ever, full stop - because they put devs ahead of the customers
thinking they'll ever overtake steam with that attitude is a hilariously bad bet
Do I need to explain to you how an analogy can have differences in severity while still having similarities?
Oh please go on the Jim Sterling tirade about quality control, i really want to see this.
That is a lie, Valve constantly removes games that don't follow the Steam rules. If you don't believe, look on SteamDB and you can see that all these "Hentai Puzzle" games and similar games are being removed. Did you forget about the "Rape Day" incident?
No, it was to demonstrate the principle you were obviously missing by showing another situation you already agree is wrong that shares the same principle.
Because you're losing a shitton of features and being forced to use what most likely is chinese spyware because of pure greed.
Guess this is how I end up saving money and just stick to the games I have.
Haven't seen it posted yet, but it seems the rumour of Become Human, Beyond Two souls and Heavy Rain are coming to the EGS.
Since those were PS4 exclusives for a while, it wouldn't surprise me of Death Stranding is put onto EGS at some point as well at this rate.
I hope not.
Wait I know this is late but they're based Here in my state???
And they're just up the road???
*Starts stuffing rags in vodka bottles*
Death Stranding is being made thanks to Sony money, expect it to be exclusive to Playstation for AT LEAST 2 or 3 years before being releasing on any other platform, if ever does it.
Epic isn't buying these Playstation exclusives to PC. Sony's stopped funding them and so their exclusivity deal is coming to an end.

At this stage with all these exclusives on Epic, I might as well go back to buying hard copy CDs for PC games, yeah y'all remember those?
Inside is a key for you to activate them in Epic Store. Yeah this isn't 15 years ago unfortunately.
Unrelated, but all these talks of PC ports is getting me hyped for a definite RDR2 port, and fuck maybe an RDR1 port of some sorts.
Man, looks like I'm gonna be chewing through my back log this year. Fuck em, I have no problem waiting on a single player game
I'm not certain that anything is going to stop the Epic train at this point, but as other's have said there is no way in hell I am buying anything on that store. I'll either wait, or not play it.
Besides, as I get older I have less time for games anyway, so at least they're trimming down my backlog for me?
(I was still really, really looking forward to playing this on day one... Damnit)
it's valve.... they legit haven't improved the developer experience for steam since 2008. it really sucks and they take a massive cut for the value they are providing (developer value, not 'lots of people already using it' value).
it's understandable why users would be frustrated with this, but try and think a bit beyond "$$$" as to why a developer would want to send a message to valve. if you think their lack of communication to their users is frustrating, then you should see what it's like when you give them 30% of your revenue (spoiler: you don't get anything and it's even worse because all their tooling is 10 years old).
What about Steamworks? Didn't they added new features for free like DDOS prevention tools some days ago? I think that saying that the service hasn't changed in 11 years is bit dumb honestly. Only some years ago you don't even have the opportunity to add your game on Steam if you don't have some big publisher behind you.
They just rolled out complete ddos protection for p2p games (and soon dedicated servers), what the fuck are you talking about?
Valve is constantly making things better for developers.
At least on consoles the exclusivity is usually justified via the console manufacturer bankrolling the development of said game.
Here it's just Epic having enough money to throw at developers who approach them to cover any potential loss of sales for that developer (based on what Gollup let slip over Phoenix Point). It's incredibly underhanded and just awful practice. They can't compete with actual features or benefits besides "our cut is slightly lower", so they compete with aggressive buyouts. It may not be illegal, but it sure as shit isn't going to give you the strong customer relations stores generally need.
The fuck it has, the Epic game store has been a thing for years, since Unreal Tournament 2012, it hasn't changed in years. The only thing that has changed is they're selling other people's games.
People make shit up like that all the time.
Okay, I'm going to give the hottest take:
Fuck Developers. No seriously, I'm getting to this level of annoyance about 'think of the developers', yes Jimmy I'm going to give a shit about 2 fuckheads working part time on a game that's about the same 500 other fucking games. The AAA market has been abusing us for cash, using addictive methods and abusing whales to soak in as much cash as possible without a second thought and now that suddenly that practice ain't right they're finding another way to milk more money out of us; hint: Tim Sweeny's talkin' out his ass! They're not going to make games cheaper, development costs alone for the expansive shit we're expecting from them has ballooned harder than a condom in a some Gideon-Tier furry art hellscape. They have zero reason to be running to Epic; and as for the fucking indies.
We've been talking about the game market for indies being over saturated for 4 fucking years. And these guys keep coming back complaining that Valve doesn't do enough, its hard to find out game, we can't make our sales; bitch I can only play a fucking pixel shooter so many times before they start swirling together like a bad Acid trip in closed indoor water slide. I can only listen to the same guitar chords being played as some repeatable non-status quo character giving us a deep no insight into what kind of product a hipster uses for their fucking beards. These teams of 1 to 2 fuckers sitting there thinking they're the next Toby Fox need a hard reality check and its going to come sooner rather than later because its not going to be the next Toby Fox appearing on Epic.
And you can easily say 'Well that's not fair, its not the developers its their business studios' except we've had both Snapshot and Satisfactory or are ostensibly RUN BY DEVELOPERS fucking over their fucking fans and backers by switching to be exclusively Epic. Fuck Developers.
This may sound angry, and that's because it is because my hand has been bitten 3 times with Metro, a game I was excited to get. Phoenix Point, a game I FUCKING BACKED. And now, with my love of CRPGs and the idea of having one in First Person now being shunted into the pure hell that is Epic and Windows Store. Fuck'em.
"Weak" is a way to put it. Promising the shopping cart in 6+ months looks pathetic to me.
Also everyone screeches about "Valve taking a massive cut" but to the last of my knowledge they take 30% which, up until Epic started pissing in the ball pit, was more or less the industry standard. Last i knew, GOG took 30% too, why's no one up their ass about it? Valve's no angel and Steam needs work but the lengths people will go to find shit to complain about is baffling.
I just literally posted the same thing on twitter. They've already admitted that they don't give a shit if we buy their games, cause their Epic Games payouts are so massive that they're already profitable. So why should we treat them better than they're treating us?
I can see the next article by PCGamer:
"Entitled gamers attacks developers over exclusives"
PCGamer can suck the biggest, fattest and most disgusting Hobocock because clearly if they weren't suckin' Epic's they act like that's what they would be sucking.
