Wait... Did you just ask how people are supposed to respond to "extensive and well articulated posts"? Well I guess by doing research before spouting bullshit
I wish I could respond to elix but reading more than two or three sentences is really hard for me as an adult.
In hindsight, I do not even know what I was thinking really. Disregard my post because I would like to be friends with everyone.
Man, all I wanted (and backed) was a spiritual successor to Wing Commander, along with maybe a spiritual successor to Freelancer if I was lucky. I didn't ask for "Second Life in space, but occasionally you fly awkward space ships I guess". I don't regret what I spent ($120 for the record), because Star Citizen is part of the soft-revival of space sims in recent years, but I have lost all sympathy and patience for the game. The game (Squadron 42) has been 2 years away for 7 years and counting. They can't make the "easy" part of their game, the singleplayer campaign, because the foundations of their game get rewritten every 18 months. The one god damn thing that a space sim should be doing right, the one thing that you would think is supposed to be the core of the game and most fun aspect of it: the god damn flying in space has seen revision after revision after revision for both technical and design reasons. That's the very first thing they should have figured out, and the fact that they're still doing dramatic overhauls of the flight mechanics (but this time will be the last time!) is so endemic of the problems and lack of direction this game has that it hurts. There are so many very valid reasons to be upset about the state of the game that anybody looking to criticize the game is spoiled for choice. It has been a complete clusterfuck and the butt of jokes of the entire gaming community, and I'm sorry, but it is not undeserved. Star Citizen will be, and is already, a landmark of the gaming industry, and for all the wrong reasons.
