The Halo TV series “may shift dates, locations, or ethnicity of characters”

So "Fuck the thing we're adapting, we actually want to tell a different story but have a name attached so people tune in" is too long of a title, sorry.
You heard it here first folks, Master Chief is now gay
Can't wait for black trans Master Chief's adventures throughout history with xe/xer/xis' magic time traveling Halo ship.
The Flood will actually all be played by Italian Americans
For example, the Halo games never let us see Master Chief’s face, adding to the character’s mystique (if people called John can have mystique), but would that work in television? “There are occasions where he showers…"
Master chief shower scene fanservice incoming
With the helmet on.
I just hope the TV series Sangheili have their pre-343 sleek, shiny snakeskin instead of 4's psoriasis-ridden sandpaper monsters.
Does this mean Gravemind is actually Flying Spaghetti Monster?
The Halo series allows for adding new characters, just don't fuck with people who already existing. Like, if they want to shift characters they made, go ahead, but don't make Chief something he isn't.

"We respect the lore but we actually don't. Now give us money"
That's not a game though, that's an animated series.
It's still apart of the canon of the games
This literally happens in every adaptation ever, anyone who is surprised or upset by this is just falling for click bait. Its an entire article of assumptions based off an incredibly vague statement that everyone should have already assumed.
why are things like this, why cant i have a good tv show
C'mon, guys, how bad could it be?
Abandon all hope now.
The novel on which it is based is canon, but I don't think the animated series is as well.
Having people have different skin colours "disrespects" the lore?
You remember when Avatar, that cartoon series where everyone was Asian, got a film adaptation and all the protagonists were white?
I saw that one. The skin colour of the characters was not why that movie sucked
"Respecting canon is one of 343’s priorities, according to Wolfkill, but not at the expense of doing what makes sense. "
Please don't put words in my mouth.
You said they weren't respecting lore. That seems to be a bit of an exaggeration
And you're the one immediately equating what I said to the "skin color" aspect. I was talking about changing dates and locations. That's entirely on you.
Wait, the Chief isn't black? I have a memory from when I was younger of him being black? Is that just something I made up that I have come to accept as fact?
No, but since characters have already been established to be of an certain etnicity, changing it is definitely disrespecting the lore.
Finally a show with a full aboriginal cast.
Why not just make new characters in the Halo universe? Expand the story rather than arbitrarily changing it.
