Well, that's not good
And I thought Bethesda selling repair kits in F76 was bad. The fuck happened to these guys?
Elder Scrolls 6 is going to flop and it's going to flop hard if they don't religiously stick to keeping it like past TES games. It's sad to see them fall so hard so fast
Even if they fuck it hard with microtransactions like this, I think it'll be a mild success nonetheless. It's currently one of the most hyped upcoming games right now.
The sad thing is that it is a genuinely good game. Some small tweaks here and there and a price-tag of 20-30 bucks would be better than the microtransaction hell they've created. I play it, but it just hurts to see the potential between the gems.
"ye old man" comment, but I still remember when Counter Strike and games of the sort were THE games to have. They could easily fit into your life and be the sole game you needed because it had challenge, it was cheap, and it was addicting as fuck. There still is quite a few people who only play these multiplayer centered games that don't revolve around a single microtransaction like CSGO and Dota 2 (not counting the skins, which TBH you don't require to play), and both are extremely cheap or outright free in the case of Dota 2, and then theres slightly more expensive games like R6 Siege that have a few bits of DLC that remind me of the ye olde days of Battlefield games, where a DLC for 15 bucks gave you another bunch of hours of fun in your favourite ride. The only games I can find that do that these days are a very small selection of them though. Multiplayer games? Siege, csgo, dota, as said, and maybe Black Ops 4 which I do NOT recommend unless you can actually have fun with a game like that. Singleplayer games? Nothing by EA, for example. Lately, Borderlands franchise and a few others. You basicaly have to avoid the shittier publishers.
A main reason why mobile games took the f2p micro-transaction route is that people seem to underestimate how much a product should cost because it is on mobile. They see something over $1 on a mobile device and they think it is to much. It's easier to trick people into spending more money in game if they got the initial game for free. Minecraft only sells for $8 on mobile because it's Minecraft. I don't see anything really else trying to go over the $1 mark.
Pretty much, I mean even with the shitty microtransactions I still enjoy playing it when I have a second to kill and don't have time to set up my laptop to play PC games. After the silver chest update it's drastically less exploitative but it's still frustrating seeing little gem icons on every action you do (and as for the free gems you get, you're constantly losing them accidentally. Once took 160 of my gems when I hit the respec button before I actually hit the button to confirm it as I wanted to see what the terms are)
Should I feel bad that I’m enjoying it so far? I went in not planning to spend any money.
I usually don't condone cheating but holy hell if I played that I'd be bytepatching that shit like a motherfucker. I really dislike any kind of microtransactions, but pay-or-wait systems just make me see red.
uh oh, I lost connection in a secret area and when I rejoined the door was closed behind me
The game itself isn't too bad when you're trying to kill time taking a shit, that's just about it.
Dungeons last too long for taking a shit I've found.
They've somehow managed to make swinging a sword with your thumb feel natural, so that's a plus
Gave it a try and after having played it for about a hour or two and found that your chest inventory gets totally filled up after two quests of the lowest difficulty. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/209432/a19df6f2-5c0e-4f07-8be6-d97d603985e9/Screenshot_20190414-223038_Blades.jpg Also this is a funny one. Someone will definitely spend over 100 eur on a free to play phone game because of this. I can almost buy two copies of skyrim at that price.
