UHRICHSVILLE, Ohio -- Laxative-laced cookies have landed an Ohio couple in jail. Bo Cosens, 29, and Rachel Sharrock, 25, both of Uhrichsville, Ohio, are being held on $1 million
bonds after police say they tried to sicken a group of striking school employees by giving them a batch of laxative-laced cookies.
A group of non-teaching employees of Claymont Schools has been demonstrating near the couple's yellow trailer. Police say the couple did this because they were disturbed by
passing cars honking their horns in support of the group, now in its third week of striking. Police directed CNN affiliate WEWS to a Facebook video that the couple shared that
shows the pair laughing as they add crushed laxatives to the cookie batter.
"We're going to be humble and we're going to give them laxative cookies," Cosens says in the video. "Five milligrams each and it's a gentle laxative," Sharrock said. "So it's ...
going to gently work its way through your system," Cosens replied. The couple asked someone else to deliver the cookies to picketers last Thursday, but nobody ate them, police
Cosens allegedly made other threats to the strikers in another video, Beal said. "He had made some threats about going down and actually shooting some of the picketers,"
Beal said. Cosens and Sharrock have been charged with contaminating a substance for human consumption, a first class felony, police said.
I’m really glad the internet exists. It means that stupid people who commit stupid crimes often supply their own evidence.
those cookies look fucking disgusting. No wonder nobody ate them.

While yes they're absolutely idiots for doing that, $1m bond seems pretty dumb.
Cosens went on a Facebook rant complaining of noise from drivers
honking their horns in support of the picketers from the Claymont School
District. The strike is in its third week.
"He said his dog barks every time somebody honks their horn so he wasn't able to get any
sleep," said Uhrichsville Police Chief Vince Beal.
To be fair I would be pretty annoyed too.
Not excusing their actions though.

That's some galaxy brain thinking right there.
From the article:
"He had made some threats about going down and actually shooting some of the picketers,"
Nah, fuck em.
What's with people taking the dumbest course of action first instead of just talking things out? I'm sure if they asked the protestors could've moved or something.
I have to agree considering it was just laxativeas and not actual poison. They probably wanted the people to disperse. Still a shitty thing to do.
Doesn't really matter if its just a laxative, you're still making something and maliciously adding something to it with the express purpose of negatively affecting the people you're giving it to, sure its just a laxative this time but it easily could have been something like rat poison.
Welcome to what is becoming the political/social Climate of the United States.
i mean manslaughter has a bail of typically around ~100k
it needs to be proportional to the crime, 1 million is excessive
Who fucken cares about the bail price? 100k or 1m they can't post it anyway. They probably made it so high to guarantee they can't post it, because they're a danger to society.
Stop making a mountain out a mole-hill, you're missing the point.
That's true. This should in fact be their sentence:
Laxatives. are still. poison. You can fucking die from a laxative overdose and there are more than enough cases of this happening.
Police directed CNN affiliate WEWS to a Facebook video that the couple shared that shows the pair laughing as they add crushed laxatives to the cookie batter.
"Hey, let's put evidence of committing a felony on Facebook. What can go wrong?"
I can somewhat understand. I had neighbors that would constantly rob me of my sleep. It turns you into a different person.
But poisoning is a step too far. All I ever did was slather butter on their door handle when they were playing drums at 2am, on a monday morning.
Apparently they live in a trailer so can't they have just fucked off somewhere else until the protests ended?
We're in the age of 'Owning the Liberals' so naturally poisoning them or shooting them is the first course of action
Because for there to be a point to engaging with someone holding an opposing view, one has to seriously consider that they might be wrong. It's a lot easier for some people to resort to attacking (verbally, physically or otherwise) said opposition than acknowledge even the possibilty. Because that'd make them "weak".
Because people generally hate confrontation.
