Man apprehended trying to enter St. Patrick's Cathedral with gasoline, lighters

The article is less than a 2 minute read, do you really think it's "rubbing it in" to pretend I didn't read it?
"The incident comes during Holy Week, one of the most important weeks of
the Christian faith. St. Patrick's Cathedral opened to the public in
1879 after 21 years of construction. It is visited by five million
people each year."
I'm not, and have not said "this is a false flag attack", no matter how much you assume that I have.
The police have no clear motive for the guy as of yet, so we don't know.
Am I supposed to believe it's "simplest" to believe this guy just wanted to burn it down for no reason with all of the rhetoric currently circulating?
Mentally unwell people are easily swayed by loud mouthed people, and we have a lot of loud mouthed people currently blaming Notre Dame on muslims.
There's enough evidence out of the articles in this thread to make an educated guess.
There's a point where, in so vigorously denying it outright isn't, that it creates an image that you believe it a false flag attack as such anyhow.
It's as likely that this guy is some unhinged QAnon fuck as it is literally anything else at this point.
and what do muslims have to do with any of it? there's nothing in the article (or the others i checked) to give credence to the theory that this guy did it to own the muslims
all you give me is vague "rhetoric circulating" shit and mention that '"end of the west' according to some" thing you never bothered to follow up on
where do you keep finding the muslim angle in this? sure a cathedral burned down (which seemed likely to have been an accident) recently, and so far what i have seen is a lot of people saying that its irresponsible to speculate about it without concrete evidence
i've seen a lot of vague suppositions in this thread about this being some kind of false flag conspiracy using the same fake news bullshit techniques that the altright uses, and it's not going to work on the people in this thread with attention spans.
StackPath
Again, it could be anything for any reason. You're the only one saying it's basically impossible it would be a false flag attack against anyone
i'm saying that it's more likely that the guy wanted to burn down the church than the idea that he wanted to inspire a false flag attack. this isn't an unreasonable position to hold, and the latter seems more like it belongs to the realm of clownworld than reality.
as for your linked article, good, you got one sentence where the guy basically says "i dont know if an accident or muslims did it" as an aside to a bigger point of his about how western civilization is already dead because of liberals as the closest he comes to blaming them. got any other stuff lying around since you say its widespread and "some people" (implying more than this guy)
was this drunken philosopher an avid reader of prager? (who knows, philosophers have shit taste)
did he read an article rambling about the death of the west, and then formulate a vague plan that in order to beat the muslims he had to go burn down a church?
Oh so we agree he wanted to burn down the church at least.
Your motive is "he had no motive"
I'm open to seeing what the reality is but I'm always going to be suspicious of shit like this in our current hyper partisan and hyper misinformed time period.
I don't see why it's really that crazy to think this could be a flase flag, i mean accelerationism is a thing. I wouldn't outright believe thats whats happening but given the events lately its completely possible.
given the evidence its just as likely he orchestrated this false flag as an excuse for india to nuke pakistan
Yeah I walked past past a street preacher today - the same annoying bastard that's plagued my city for about a decade, by my count - and he was yelling that what happened at Notre-Dame was just the beginning, it's an omen of blah blah blah signalling the end of Roman Catholicism and the same will be happening in other cathedrals around the world. Fanatics are utter morons for wanting this to happen.
Eeeh, New York already had our cathedral (St Sava) burn down and rather nastily, 2 churches would be 2 times too much
