Are you actually going to read the citations? Religion has a palpable beneficial effect on mental health. "Religion makes people kill themselves and others" is not an actual reply to what I stated lmao
After taking note of your post count, gold member status, join date, the amount of pixels in your avatar I can conclude that you will have 2 children later in life and be married to a aquarius.
Someone's altruism will shine brightly in your life today. Their unselfish actions will inspire you to follow their example and get more involved in changing the things that you think are wrong in the world. You are gaining more power in your own life, so why not aim higher—and try to gain more power for the lives of others? Whether you donate money to a charity or political campaign or volunteer your time to pick up litter by the side of the road, you should get involved. You also have a 50/50, chance of getting anally raped today, watch out
This is excellent news
I think astrology is only one part of a bigger cultural phenomenon in regards to loss of identity and context in the world that religion used to fill. Wether you build part of your identity on being a gamer, a marvel CMU fan, or an astrologist I think it's really different shades of the same cultural identity crisis as we try to fill the voids within us with whatever is being marketed to us that catch our interest.
maybe its because many of 'the faith' are increasingly acting like the superstitious cults the bible was warning against.
One more question, is astrology really a spirituality? It does concern itself with the non-physical realm of the inner self in some respects, but ultimately it is based on proposals on how the physical cosmos operates (the mechanics of the system presume a geocentric model but believers always gloss over that) and influence our behaviours, which again is a physical phenomenon. Seems like it's more of a pseudoscience tacked onto actual systems of spirituality.
So do thousands of other factors, what is your point exactly?
Now I'm into all sorts of occult mumbo jumbo but from what I've read, even most modern occult scientists/artists (carrol, oupensky, jung, jodorowsky, etc) agree that astrology is all nonsense. While the different zodiac signs are reasonable archetypes for mapping out personalities, associating them with people because they were born on a certain day is useless because there are too many other factors that influence someone's life and personality, and their specific date of birth has a very negligible effect on who they are as a person.
I know someone who is obsessed astrology but thinks religion is "nonsense." They share memes about their sign or the sign of the particular person they're having a gripe with extremely regularly, and use their sign to justify shitty things they've done.
It seems like Twitter and Tumblr sorta breed devout astrology followers out of lonely people who do nothing but scroll all day. I think a big appeal is that it has little or no level of organization, allowing people to separate it from Christianity, Islam, etc and feel a stronger sense of authenticity, or at the very least it allows them to participate in what feels like niche, deviant behavior despite its actual popularity.
You can't rape the willing
