then why would you make wild assumptions about laptops when it's not true? Since Pascal, mobile GPUs are the same as desktop aside from being slightly underclocked (which you can override.) My laptop is more than capable of running VR, just not the Index as it requires DP and I don't have a DP out. Why would I be upset about a port if I didn't think my computer could run VR?
That's why I said basically. It's the best you'll get without hacky community work arounds or just outright buying an Index kit. Or I suppose you could buy a vive and then get the index controllers, which wouldn't really save you much money, like $300 or so maybe.
Yeah I was just watching a video and the women in it said you'd need the HTC Sensors and some other shit, so fuck all that basically, might aswell just buy the Index later on when it comes down in price. Eventually. Someday.
It’s gonna launch pretty soon, and while pre-release hardware might sometimes lack the tight integration of the final product, you can oftentimes still judge if it’s gonna be a significant upgrade or not. Of course journalists only had a few moments with it, but the improvements over the VIVE Pro appear to be limited, though of course it’ll still be the best experience around.
MSI GS75 Stealth, Asus Rog Zephyrus, and Razer Blade Pro all have high end graphics but no displayport ports. They have displayport via usb C though.
DP via UsbC is basically display port at this point since usbC basically has taken the place of mini displayport.
If it’s legit dp over usb3 then an adapter will work for the Index.
Just ordered xD I have been waiting a year to get into VR and this complete package seems decently priced for an all inclusive kit Now I have put my thousand euros at the mercy of valve
Rip me i initally wanted to get an Oculus Touch and waited to see what Steam has in store but 1079€ is a bit too steep for me, now Oculus has stopped its production of the CV1 and i can't buy it anymore either guess i'll wait for a few years to get into VR atleast i have 600/700 for it maybe when Index gets a bit cheaper in the future but it already looks amazing.
How on Earth did you order after it was already out of stock?
I like how Canada is like some sort of mystery zone and we can't get shipped to, even though Valve is like fucking two hours from the Canadian border at most
Ricochet 2 VR
You'll take your Skinner box bikini armor crates and like it. You might get a legendary-quality one; they have orange names, you know.

It's funny that Poland out of all places can order Index and has correct currency, and Canada next to USA is shafted. Good for me I guess.
