I don't think so, as Eddings mentioned, 2K is also involved in the $12mi scheme (probably related to Aliens: Colonial Marines?). Why won't the Gearbox developers just quit and form their own studio? How can they even tolerate someone as arrogant as Bitchfork?

I think he still went with it because of the Fans, I mean he nearly did Claptrap for BL3 as shown in the tweets above, and that would have been voluntary too, getting an apology from Randy for assaulting him, and all that jazz, all for the Fans.
Also industry standard could basically be minimum wage for voicing a major character in a game. So that would still be TERRIBLE pay
Him being VP makes more sense, if he was just a random dev then he should have walked out (especially during Pre-Sequel's production due to having Claptrap as a playable character) and while I am skeptical about his claims of assault (I'm going to assume physical assault means Randy tried to punch him, which does sound like the dude...) I also kinda don't want to make excuses for Randy?
Look I have a list of complaints about the guy that go beyond EGS. Shit like treatment of the Duke IP (pulling the Megaton edition in favor of the pretty shitty World Tour edition, not pulling a Devolver and releasing D3D/DNF beta content) or, yeah, cheating the guy who voiced Clap over a lot of money. Personally this is the last straw, won't be picking BL3 up and I hope it misses it's projections. It's not just gearbox either, I simply don't have the same friends who I played BL1 and BL2 with, but eh.

I really hope now that BL3 misses projections. I say this as something realistic - with the amount of resources they put in alongside letting people stream a gamma-build of the game, I don't think the game in turn will flop, especially due to GB's history of funneling money from some projects (A:CM, DNF) into other things. I do think it's very possible for the game to meet not quite the sales projections the bean counters were hoping
As a bonus, if this game doesn't do so well? It might hurt the Epic Gamestore too so... yay?
It's so disheartening knowing that even if somehow BL3 falls short because of Randy that he'll still make out a lot better than the actual devs. The only thing you can do is what you feel is right. Since your money or lack of won't help or hinder who you hope it will.
Support the game? Randy get's more money.
Denounce the game? Devs get less money.

Hang on a second now. I doubt this will happen due to both how good BL3 looks as well as the amount of money thrown at it* but theoretically if BL3 were to flop then Gearbox and by extension Randy would be in a precarious position where 2k would be less willing to give them funds to work on future projects. Given the track record of funneling money from other projects that were in development hell (DNF and A:CM) I kinda doubt they would be willing to give them something small to fill time lest they run into a situation where they pocket the money given to them to develop the project, outsource it to other guys and use the money for Project X into Personal Project Y. This has happened with A:CM and *likely* DNF as well, although the latter is more speculation
Basically, if BL2 wasn't a success? Then I doubt we'd see a Gearbox or a Smug Randy.
*Anthem too looked too looked good and had a lot of money thrown at it, but that game didn't have journos playing a gamma-build of it 6 months before launch!
