Matt is very hit and miss with these. Depends if he's hopping on a hype train or talking about something he really cares about. He's also not creating video essays so it's probably not fair to compare this to a actual video essay.
Waiting on Civvie 11 to finally get his Pitchford rant in order because I'm sure he has some stern words to say about the man.
If it's true that he did assault the guy, then fuck Randy and give him the boot. But sadly I'm going to hold back from fully believing an accusation without proof/third party help. But man, I wish I could just give my money to the devs and not Randy
You forgot the allegation that he didn't want to pay Eddings to replay his voice acting as Claptrap.
I'll be honest, the child abuse allegations are so outrageous that I'm really going with an innocent until proven guilty mentality.
A lot of my personal beef with him tends to be his attitude which at first comes across as that "endearing jerk" but later as his jerkiness gets higher just hits "Jerk" levels and mistreatment of the Duke IP. Seriously, about releasing DNF beta content (which really is a goldmine to beta-hunters), what kind of excuse is "We can't release it but we can only sell it due to 2k publishing agreements"? I'd be inclined to believe him if he was generally less of a shitheel, but well. Alongside taking down a more complete version of the game from online stores, it's just kinda shite
I've said it once, but I'll say it again: if borderlands wasn't a hit, gearbox wouldn't be around. Maybe it would have been for the better, and Randy would have disappeared. But also, he could have rammed his dick into some other company.
And I really do feel bad for everyone else at gearbox, because clearly they enjoy borderlands and enjoy making it, because it takes a lot of work and thought to build what they have. But the leader and apparently spokesman of their company is so fucking insufferable that he is single-handedly ruining any and all pr for their company.

The days go by and I'm more keen to believe what Eddings said. Randy hasn't given a statement about it yet, nor about the $12mi allegedly taken away from Gearbox.
I dislike Randy as much as the next guy, but wasn't that just regular porn with "teen" in the title? That's not exactly uncommon.
That's an excuse he or his defense brigade came up with for him (I think he ignored the alleged age of the star part and just explained away his having it at all), but the reason it came up was it was denoted in a case against him from a lawyer that worked with him iirc.
Think we're still waiting to see more on that.

Well, IMO, I wouldn't want to leave something like that behind, be it the most "standard pornography" you could think of, or fuckin' "black amputee toilet hardware handjob porn".
It would look bad for whoever it was imo.
It really saddens me that the game and the people behind the game, aka the only elements in the middle of all of this that matter, have this much baggage behind their backs.
