I think that's why he was saying this shouldn't be called bullying - he is saying we need to take this more seriously by calling it what it actually is.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is that "what it actually is" is also bullying.
I guess bullying is just quite a broad term.
But when it affects children, it's no big deal. It's the same shit with physical abuse from parents towards children.
"bullying" as a term is bad because it mitigates the weight of emotional, mental, and physical abuse, and it should just be considered flat-out criminal abuse, not anything else-- giving it a second/separate name lets people categorize it away
The only reason it's seen as a light term is because people don't take bullying seriously. Calling this bullying AND making note of how serious this is will help that
If adults act like absolute cunts, what makes you think kids aren't going to do that?
I hate it when people romanticise children as innocent and unjudgemental. Kids are fucking sociopaths
yeah, my sister got pushed down and kicked in the head repeatedly in fucking kindergarten. a 5 year old thought it was a good idea to kick someone in the head over not sharing toys. teachers did fuck all and a passing by woman heard her scream for help and alerted the teachers standing behind the building smoking. kid never got punished either.
This. Was bullied throughout all of grade school and high school. Had to switch grade schools in grade 6 because of it. Nothing was ever done in regards to the bullying.
