It could have been slightly more clear but from context it's really obvious what's being said. Still doesn't explain how you interpreted that as "Jared didn't do anything wrong"
Even if the relationship was over, it's a bit scummy to fuck you friends SO in the middle of their divorce procedure.
generally speaking, not particularly to this situation, but if both parties agree and establish the relationship is over than they should be allowed to do as they please. divorce procedures can take a long time. the actual divorce itself is nothing more than a legality process.
