Mass teacher 'proved' school needs metal detectors by planting ammunition.

Used to be a pretty common sight decades ago in rural US schools. Lots of people went hunting after school or lived on ranches in our area. There's yearbook photos of my mom in high school with kids back then having guns racked in the truck.
Now, obviously less so since everything is a bit more connected. But there are still plenty of cases where some kid goes hunting over the weekend and leaves his hunting backpack in the backseat that's filled with ammo or something. If the news gets wind of it, obviously it's "Teen at XYZ school found with high-powered rifle ammunition", whereas anyone else in the area would say "The Williams' boy went hunting after school". I've done that plenty of times back when I was in high school.
