Paper is probably worse for the environment as it contributes to deforestation.
It's about pollution rather than climate change.
Not only that but we can probably implement/develop solutions fairly quickly for 1% of plastic products that must be replaced, but to do that for 100%? Yeah good luck not wrecking the economy overnight
I had a milkshake from mcdonalds and the paper straw was the most useless thing that I would've required multiple of them to actually get through it because they fell apart/became unusable unless i were to wait for it to become extremely watery which defeats the purpose of what i ordered. first world issues
Seems to be a McDonalds issue. Paper straws from other places seem much better and have no problems with thicker things like milkshakes.
Pollution and climate change are both destroying the planet together.
