Also basically only rich people can afford low cars, since they are usually super cars with systems that allow them raise the suspension. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58146/27f6bdc8-06ae-42da-863c-aca143ac08ee/imagen.png
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes Maybe don't put $4,000 of mediocre suspension work (that thing isn't even low) into a car that's worth $4,000?
My 3 grand Miata with 300 dollar suspension begs to differ.
The solution is to fit the speed bumps with a sensor. If it detects that the approaching car has an inadequate chassis height, the speed bump will be lowered to accommodate it. Then as the car goes over the bump, an explosive device will detonate, killing the driver instantly
There once was a guy from Limerick Who undoubtely was a bit thick He lowered his car But didn´t go far Then acted like kind of a dick
I don't think you understand, what I mean was that thanks to speedbumps becoming higher and higher each year, there will be one point where the only viable way to have a lowered car is if the suspension can be raised on command.
For some reason I didn't even read half your post. I just saw an opportunity to talk about my Miata and took it. That's my bad
“How can I make this about class warfare”
It is possible to be a car enthusiast and still not have the money to afford an expensive sports car, but being able to afford a modified low-power sporty car.
on a more serious note though, not that I'm with the idiot from the article but some speed bumps are RIDICULOUS. where I live they impose speed limits with speed bumps that require you to go well below the speed limit... the only speed bumps I like are the Dutch style 'bus-friendly' speed bumps and raised junctions.
You mean speed cushions? I find them to be the most annoying, because my car's track is too small so there's no good way to pass them without being painful. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58146/662e64e1-65fa-49ef-ac1f-24a75a3c9b54/imagen.png
we have these kinds in Singapore. they're big gentle humps... much nicer to drive over and practically does the same job http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_80Hb9maC10/UjgBmzStTJI/AAAAAAAAGRQ/3plZ4S1kgkk/s1600/6.gif
How do these work???
I think the idea is that emergency vehicles are wide so they can just pass them without hitting them, but smallers cars require you to only hit it with one side of the car so it's a pain in the ass, you either pass them painfully slowly or quick enough, the middle ground is the worst.
I want to know what he fucked on that thing to warrant $2500 of damages. I've worked in auto parts and I know you could rebuild the entire fucking car for about that price
passats are famous for scraping and breaking their oil pans, the car could have then gotten oil starved and needed a full engine rebuild.
