Imagine not calling the fourth game "modern 4fare"
Cowards.
can i suggest call of duty: medal of honor as a potential sequel
At least Activision hasn't Mega Man'd the shit out of Call of Duty, or else in just 2007 to 2017 we'd have seen around 40 individual releases and compilations between like five different branches of sub-series, spinoffs, main games and otherwise.

Modern Warfare: The Call of Duty (Duty Calls Edition: Call of Four Duties 2019 Master Duty-Caller Extreme) (2020)
This is the ultimate punchine to a decade of "Every game is the same" jokes.
Can't wait for Ca][ of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2020
It's actually a sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and a prequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Please stop calling, Duty...
I couldn't give a rats about CoD games any more (haven't played once siiiiiiince... the first Black Ops? I think). But I do get why they do this. It's just like movies - if you 'reset' the chronological numbering of your series, you have a chance at introducing the games to a new crowd of people who might typically avoid your series otherwise due to the numbering being so far down the line that they just don't want to 'get in' on a series so late into its existence. The old fans are going to buy it regardless, so a harmless little name change in exchange for the potential new buyer base is always deemed worth it by the higher ups.
I hate it, but I get it.
call of duty ancient warfare, all guns are pre 1900
Or Modern War4
Seriously though what fucking dickturd thought naming something IIII was good
The Call of Duty, out now for The Play Station and Xbox: Origins
That actually sounds like something I would play.
black ops ayeeeee
such a mint game
singleplayer was that kind of enjoyable action movie, and multiplayer was simple and stable, feeling a lot like some kind of skirmish where each side takes its own place and that's it
none of this "spawn next to your enemy" shit
Funny you say that, there's an ancient history channel civil war game for the Ps2 on an engine that feels so blatantly photocopied from the first couple of COD games that, prior to checking the wikipedia page, I legitimately thought it ran on the same engine. Bonus points because not only does the engine feel like a direct copy of whatever cod had at the time (although probably isn't), but it was also published by motherfuckin' Activision.
Black Ops F5ve.
Call of Snooty: Class Warfare. You play as a Republican politician criticising the estate tax and gain points by shooting the opposing forces in the war on Christmas.
Oh shit I own that game. It was actually kinda fun.
Do a COD: Online and just release $60 DLC's every year, plus $20 map packs. I might go back to COD and you would keep more players.
I used to be for a COD: Online with an initial purchase + $20 subscription with promise to it being only new COD and they just kept updating but I don't trust them for that anymore.
