Twitter Has Started Researching Whether White Supremacists Belong on Twitter

I'm sure there are people out there who seriously nazis should be put in death camps and it really makes you think.
I remember a thread about this being discussed about a month ago and Twitter said one big reason they didn't want to is that it likely would ban a bunch of conservative politicians and they figured the societal backlash for banning politicians would be too great.
As I said then:
That sounds like a personal problem for the white supremacist politicians then.
Not going to say anything about concentration camps, but I seriously think if you're such a piece of shit as to consider someone beneath yourself based on arbitrarily chosen innate characteristics, you should get your rights limited.
Strip them of freedom of speech, they don't deserve it. And no, there's absolutely no slippery slope. We don't allow terrorists to propagate their ideology freely, I don't see how various sorts of fascists are any different.
There's no 'live and let live' when it comes to ideologies that call for genocide. As long as they remain harmless, we let them be. But they just need to give us one good excuse to come down hard on them, imo.
Just saying, by the way, that suspected homosexual Richard Spencer has said this

Incase you need a reminder of who he is

That was actually a problem with an AI they were going to use that had trouble telling the different between white supremacists and conservative politicians, not that conservative politicians were white supremacists.
Freedom of speech literally only has utility in protecting speech that a ton of people hate
Saying people "don't deserve freedom of speech" is a great way to throw away your own rights.
Do you genuinely think the government that you've given this power to won't change?
remember when hitler gained power and he was gonna eliminate his political opponents but then he went "wait, but they didn't eliminate me first. tch, guess I can't do it."
norms don't protect anyone. I don't know how anyone could believe they do after the last few years.
Every right has limits - usually where it runs up against the rights of others. That's why countries like Canada and the UK have laws against public hate speech and incitement of hatred towards any identifiable group. Those are reasonable limits. While it's certainly not true in the United States, in other countries around the world the government generally tries to act in the best interests of its people - not corporate donors or wannabe dictators.
Rolling with this one, chief.
Government already has this power, see my point about terrorists, ISIS for example. The government already suppresses certain groups' freedom of speech, on basis of them being hatemongers. I fail to see how taking it a step further, towards other hateful ideologies, is a slippery slope as long as everything is properly defined within the law.
And besides, the kind of government that will move to suppress your or mine freedom of speech (assuming we're not preaching hateful, damaging ideologies) will do it anyway, it won't ask our permission. Case in point, my country.
hellworld bruh, enjoy your stay, things are getting real toasty in the near future
Why are we talking about the freedom of speech? It's not applicable here
Because every time a company even thinks about putting in any form of regulation on what they allow on their platform, the free speech absolutists have to show up to defend the honor of the people who will likely throw free speech in the can.
It's always surprising to me when someone says "I want to kill all minorities" and there's inevitably someone who goes "hold on, let's hear them out."
More infuriating then surprising, but the moment someone very clearly says something barely an inch away from "I want to kill all minorities" and you call them out on their bullshit, there's always that one fence sitter going "you're jumping the gun, let's give them the benefit of the doubt" like you're the asshole here. How about we fucking don't give benefit of the doubt to people blowing dog whistles. They know what they're doing. They know it, and they know that we see right through them, they also know enlightened rational skeptics will always, always play ball. Just look at the state 'youtube skeptics' ended up in, that's all because they were going out of their way to engage with blatant fascists, alt-right walked all over them - free market of ideas my ass.
That's why I firmly believe in zero tolerance/no platform policy. Less so just because of fascists propagating their ideology, more so because general public isn't equipped to deal with them. Just look at how popular a sentiment "Antifa is just as bad as the ones they oppose" has become.
"BOTH SIDES ARE JUST AS BAD"
Like imagine having one of Humanity's greatest achievements, The Internet, at your disposal and still being so fucking ill informed or willingly gagging on the dick of disinformation thats propagated throughout social media by useful idiots such as Wankula or Sargon who continue to trivialise the real terrifying concept of crypto fascism under the guise of free speech.
Yet you'll never see either of them defend black trans women being killed or the worse fate of being banned off twitter but they'll fucking give themselves whiplash leaping to defend daddy Peterson or their good pals like tommy robinson (his real name Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon) or other openly fascist pals Lauren Southern, Stephan Molyneux and maybe even Ben Shapiro.
I'm just ranting at this point but if you've done any research or spend any amount of time in the crypto fascist circles online or off you'll understand how important of a concept the overton window is in further their ideology and how guys like the comic writer Stonetoss will make "jokes" about nazi ideas until the real "joke" lands and why you could argue PewDiePie is a useful asset to fascism when he's normalising/making jokes about genocide to an audience of 70 million subs (Largely impressionable kids or teens). Like fuck me, I'm pretty sure these ideas were even in the New Zealand Shooter's manifesto.
I should probably say I don't think either Carl, Dankula or Pewdiepie are genuinely fascist but they're definitely an asset in the eyes of fascism but then again maybe I'm bias as a trans women who's had "friends" who actually believed trans people exist because the Jews are feminizing men but heyo personal anecdotes.
Again, advocating for free speech doesn't make you anti-fascist, we've seen what happens when they actually believe the principles of fascism "Individually we are weak, together we are strong." Innocent people are killed. I do want to believe that Sunlight is the best disinfected for these guys but when the large majority of them probably don't go outside enough as it is and are so entrenched in their own shit, bashing the fash is the only alternative. You cannot operate under good faith with Nazism.

geez, that's rough. I'm sorry to hear that.
I’m honestly of the opinion that nazis need to be deplatformed and driven into the shadows like roaches. People are way to willing to give their ear to the fascist bullshit that is built from the ground up to both exploit algorithms and appear friendly and approachable enough to make the next batch of suckers think being racist is cool. Far right/nazi recruitment tactics literally revolve around exploiting the platforms accessible to them and dressing their recruitment propaganda in enough dog whistles and “jokes” to be impossible to debate while reeling in new members. The only way forwards is to drive them off sparkly major platforms and into more obscure sites, wiping off the veneer they’re working hard to uphold. Look at hacks like Milo Yiannopoulos who went from a major alt-right spokesman to a broke loser millions in debt after getting banned from Twitter.
For those that don't routinely look into the politics section, there's an interesting event happening around the 30th anniversary of the Tienanmen Square Massacre.
TL:DR, twitter is banning accounts posting stuff with anti-Chinese sentiments.
White supremacists: Research required.
Being even vaguely critical of China: Detrimental to platform stability and fairness.
This honestly makes my blood boil.
Fuck Jack Dorsey
