Marvel producer thinks the 'X-Men' name is outdated

X-Them
xD
Gotta be cruel to be kind
men in black
come on guys when does anyone ever use it for anything but the former?
I had an admittedly very liberal professor once dock me a point for using the mankind form of man in a draft for an essay, still kept it in the final one because it was a small step for all mankind
I like that the character who's saying this' sole superpower is looking like other people and the entirety of the last three movies was her having to be saved by men because she is completely useless in a superhero fight.
I can see them rebranding just to distinguish themselves from the old xmen canon though because things got weird between 2000 and 2007 and the prequels didn't do it any favors
How about 'The Inhumans'?
I think it's kind of silly but if they go with X-Force or something I'd be willing to play along
X-Force works fantastically instead, why is everyone so bewildered?
I doubt Disney will even do the traditional Magneto/Professor X route at all when they start integrating mutants into the MCU.
Cus Deadpool used the term X-Force, so unless they wanna play the card of Deadpool takes over the Academy (not the worst idea) you might see some silly acronym like the Federal Academy for Genetically Gifted Individuals, Transhumans and Superheros.
Because X-Force already exists and is something entirely different. Its essentially the X-Mens black ops division.
Wolverine and the Wolverines.
There are so many X-Men splinter groups that you could represent the X-Men with them alone. X-Force, Excalibur, Generation X, New Mutants, X-Factor, X-Corps, Alpha Squadron, etc. However, I do think what the producer is arguing is rather silly, considering how the X-Men have always been about inclusivity and is rather strong about showing that aspect too. We don't need to change the name when they're already reputed to be inclusive.
Here we go again with this bullshit. "Something isn't about me??? I'm uncomfortable!!!!," This is the same kind of thinking that went into the "straight pride parade," in that they think they're being inclusive to everyone or everyone else but end up just looking incredibly selfish.
Also worth mentioning is the X-Men were literally created with a woman on the team.

Why are people like this these past couple of years? They act like babies about such non-issues.
Why would you call it X-Men, I mean despite that comic book establishment as the reason, I figure it's because of Xavier and it all being his idea, so he calls them X-Men after himself, why would he call them X-Women? That really just sounds like we're talking about a group of Women specifically and not just a collection of people.
People get so uppity over such trivial shit.
I don't know about Bat-Person, but i can get behind Person of Bat.
People without a great understanding of language have been making this kind of observation forever, it's just really silly how ignorance gets put up on a pedestal.
Doesn't the term "Man" meaning humanity predate the use of "man" and "woman" as terms for genders? It's widely accepted that there are two definitions for the word and frankly it seems kind of pointless to bring gender politics into it while completely ignoring the history of the term.
Yeah but this is 2019 and people are fucking snowflakes about every little thing.
