Thats another thing that bothers me, more than the rest. The "I need to play it so badly, that I have to pirate it", that also serves the rest of the problems we have. People apparently need to play it so badly that they throw consumer rights and quality of product, both in objective and subjective levels, and buy it the worst way possible.
This is disgusting Deep Silver really is one of those publishers who'll do anything to get a quick buck
I believe that piracy is showing you want the product but not the way they've decided to handle it.
Consumer anti pirates in any year after 2009 lmao I can’t believe I used to be that kind of tool

I get the feeling you'd just be noise among the thousands of people who pirate games not because of an ideology like this. I'm not convinced game studios will get the message.
I'm just wondering how much this will hurt crowdfunding for games.
Not surprised Deep Silver is behind this change. They've been fucking over their consumers since before even EGS was a thing (see: cutting Ranger difficulty from Metro Last Light, and selling it as DLC). THQ Nordic buying Koch Media was a mistake, because they're only going to do harm to THQ Nordic's brand by being associated with them. You already have people freaking out that the games THQ Nordic revealed are gonna end up as EGS exclusives, even though they aren't being published by Deep Silver. Remember that even though THQ Nordic owns Koch Media, Koch Media has full independence, so this is all just on them. The blame does not go anywhere else but to Koch Media. If I were THQ Nordic, I would severely reign that independence in a bit, because for right now, it's not helping anyone.
Kickstarter got back to me and said it doesn't break their rules, even though their rules say creators can't mislead people... Has anyone else gotten a response? I wonder if they'll change their tune once they've seen a few reports of it
corporations don't care about consumers so no, it won't communicate anything either way but at least with piracy someone gets to be happy

Can't say I'm suprised. Their stance was always "we don't care unless this is an obvious scam".
How is that not a violation of something? The backers paid for one thing and aren't getting it.
Fucking Cock Media ruining games
Probably some semantics or something. Technically, people are still getting the game that was promised, just not delivered the way it was promised. KS would really only take a stance on this if, as Megalan said, people were outright scammed in a way where the product (the game itself) wasn't delivered in any way. According to Deep Silver (if they're to be trusted), refunds are outside of their scope because they joined on after the Kickstarter and have no say over the KS page. Ys Net (the devs) seem to be the people to directly contact in this instance. At the very absolute minimum, backers should be given another prompt to change their platform of choice if they haven't already. I'm sure a lot of PC backers who also have PS4's wouldn't mind switching to have the PS4 copy now.
