Came here due to TF2 Mods and stayed for the community.
I still remember my 1st post back in 2009 iirc. It was a huge paragraph thanking the TF2 modders about their work and about being a lurker for about two months or so.
The reply to it was "Hey guys, can we keep him?"
It was very warm welcome.

Man, even if we get the entire community onto Knockout, it's not gonna have that same spark.
The best thing about Facepunch were Outsiders drawn here by Garrysmod that made absolutely ridiculous posts like Need Help With Some Models.
...Although maybe that'll be a good thing. Rust and its fandom seems to have been the catalyst that started the death-march towards this moment.

I wasn't here from the start but from what I know Gmod essentially was born during Garry's SA days and Facepunch for all intents and purpose was the Rome to SomethingAwful's Greece.
