I don't want to say goodbye. I've been here for 8 years. All of you have helped me get out of my shell. I started becoming more open minded. I actually started learning advanced English because of these forums. You all were the reason I am the person I am today, and I'm grateful for it. Thank you for all those years.
I've met so many people here even if I lurked most of the time. I had so much fun with Facepunch Automotive Addicts, Facepunch Racing, Facepunch GTA and all the others. I was 14 when I joined. I am 22 now, I'm an adult. I have a greater worldview because of the people here.
Adieu, Facepunch. I'm going to Knockout I guess but it's not going to have the same spark or memories I once had on Facepunch.

Does anybody know when the forums will be offline?
Also does anybody know how to transfer a facepunch account to knockout or do we start up from scratch?

So this is it. Shame to see it go out like this.
Facepunch shaped me in a way. I'd like to think it was for the better, but it's definitely here where I learned not to post stupid shit - and I think I've succeeded at that, what with me not having been banned even once since 2012. It's been a good streak. I've seen this forum go through the motions, witnessed all the shit unfold and forum history be made. The Gmod models thread, wickedplayer's spectacular ban by postal, idiot culls, Tropsical, Sonic the Hedgehog coffin thread, the Starpluck flag fiasco, the wok DMCA incident... a wild ride no matter which part you look at.
It's also one of the last places on the Internet that I knew still used the old fashioned discussion forums for their intended purpose. Everyone moved on to instant messaging - which just doesn't suit a lot of discussions. Discord moves on a bit too fast to have any serious talk; Reddit is probably the worst place for that, considering how post visibility is dictated by the amount of upvotes... I don't think there's another place like Facepunch out there currently.
I hope we, as a community, can move on to Knockout and become even better than Facepunch. At least we'll have people who actually give a damn in charge this time around.
Let's be more than piss droplets in a sea of piss this time around, folks ',:)

Been lurking and occasionally posting here for 14 years. I'll be sad to see FP go as I often could find interesting news and links here. There's a ton of games that I'd have never played if it wasn't for seeing them on Facepunch.
Is there any way to easily view my old, old posts for one last time? I'm talking years-ago old.
I'm gonna miss the Hell out of this place and all you guys in it. This is where I took refuge when Ubercharged.net was hacked and destroyed, and now this internet home is going too, after so many years. I sure hope Knockout will last.

Because I'm pretty sure not everyone even knows FP is officially dying (or at least seems to be) and knows about Knockout being an alternative.

Facepunch and the Community have been so good to be with for last 11 years. I'm not exactly well known on the forum (I imagine) but I hope to see as many of you as possible on Knockout.
