I'll miss this place a lot if its truly going away. It's been a great eleven years with you all, I've grown from a kid to an annoying teen and now a somewhat mature adult and a lot of it had to do with this community.
I hope knockout is a good replacement but I'll be really sad to leave, this forum is a special place, whatever problems may have existed here all I can say is: Nothing is perfect, but this Forum was better than worse.

This is probably one of my most frequently visited websites and I never really partook in it. Guess I'll have to try again on Knockout.
I still don't understand why Garry never even thought about just transferring ownership to whoever set up knockout, surely that would've been the simplest solution to just cut his ties and let whoever is interested take ownership and responsibility?

Through troughs and peaks, it was a good place, whether it be for political debates at 4am or for shitposting reaction images in LMAO Pics. I never really know what to say in situations like these. I've never been great with goodbyes, and it feels almost silly to be emotional about the end of an internet forum I only really lurked on - but here we are. We have Knockout, yes, but it will never truly be the same.

From my understanding for some reason stuff rom Facepunch games were doing something that fed in to the Facepunch forum data, which included protected personal information. So just handing it over would have caused GDPR concerns (though these can be dealt with as there are legal processes for doing this inclunded in GDPR.) And nothing was done to bring anyone in to simply disconnected the two elements and migrate the data out (This is also entirely doable. Fuck, we've had to do this at the company I work for a shitload in the last year alone and our department is severely underfunded and understaffed. We can still do it right now.)
