thumping was a cool way to mine for crafting resources, but man did they fuck up this game. used to play it a bit back in 2013 with a couple friends
I thought this died ages ago. I remember it being an MMOFPS with the gunplay of an MMO and the progression of an FPS
You are probably mixing this with tabula rasa or the secret world, the fps mechanics of firefall were closer to that of arena shooters.
Servers are officially offline. It was nice having one last party at Copa.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ryVVwBc.png[/t] This is what I want to remember about Firefall. This, and thumpers. [t]http://i.imgur.com/r2Q01bH.png[/t] But this is also what I remember about Firefall. (This screenshot was taken over half a mile inland.)
A damn shame. I hadn't played it in quite awhile but when I did it was a fun little timewaster. Could never drag my friends away from Warframe to try it though.
I'm in the boat that thought this had been shutdown a while ago. I believe I played in 2013. Whenever it was you were given base frames for each role and had to buy advanced ones. I signed up specifically near the end of, I believe, the Firecat Carnival. Some event where once a day you temporarily equipped it to throw balls through hoops and other 'safe and fun' things meant to show off what it could do. And resource thumping was akin to resources in Star Wars Galaxies as there were multiple kinds of the same ore with different qualities in different locations(ie: low quality was close to low level/safe spots, high quality was in danger areas). I apparently lucked out as well as I had done something to unlock a permanent bike and the means to get it were removed a while later. I remember somehow getting a single red bean. Supposedly it was from a short lived test of daily quests randomly awarding red beans.

Sad to see it go. But really me and some other friends only played this for a few days and got bored with it.
