With all the genuine criticism one could make towards the confederates, being traitors always seemed like a weird one to me considering the United States are the result of rebellion against a bigger government in the first place.
I don't see how that's weird.
America isn't exactly built on the concept "we want to have slaves, but you won't let us," while the Confederate States would have been. Plus, the people who support the Confederacy and its flag think themselves as patriotic. It'd be like proudly displaying the American flag, while cheering "God save the monarchy, and bless the United Kingdom."
In Russian history books said that your North win because of blacks, industry and support from France and Russian Empire.I also believe that slavery was important but it was more about economy, territory and it was obvious that British will help South and use it against Napoleon and Russia later.
I don't remember a single mention of Russian assistance when learning about the American Civil War, and I'm curious as to how the British were going to use the South against Napoleon considering he'd been dead for 40 years. Unless you're referring to Napoleon III, but even the Union was concerned about the British and the French recognizing the Confederate's independence. The most I can even find about Russian support is just some vocal support and an incident where the Russians had two fleets sail into American waters so they wouldn't be trapped if war broke out between Russia and Britain.
The Union won due to a mixture of much better industrialization, logistics, and a bit of luck at times.

I could've said "yeah,I mean Napoleon III" to save my face but I just confuse the Civil War and War for Independence.

It's only in Russian but it's about Russian ships that were sent to Union to prevent any form of military intervention from Austria,France and the British Empire since they didn't want to deal with us and we also wanted revenge for Crimean War.

Everything I can find indicates that the Russians had no intention of helping the Union, it was the Americans themselves that believed they were there to act as a deterrence. They were just there as a convenient place to attempt to raid British shipping in the even war broke out due to the Polish uprisings because otherwise they'd just be stuck where they were based. The ships were even sailed out in such a way as to avoid the British from noticing that a fleet was being deployed to the US.

tl;dr the Russians just sent a bunch of really outdated "steam" ships that still primarily operated using sails in an effort to prevent them from getting trapped in the event war broke out with the UK. Russia played no significant role in the Union victory in the ACW.

But what does that have to do with them being "traitors"? It's irrelevant. To say that some people in the US are supporting traitors implies that the issue is that the Confederates wanted to secede, not that they supported slavery.

Yeah it's pretty weird seeing rednecks brandishing both the US and the Confederate flag.
