School sends pupils wearing wrong shade of grey trousers home

The only dress code any school Ive been to had was that your face had to be visible, no sagging your pants, and no miniskirts. Even then the teachers could never be assed to actually enforce that unless it was a flagrant violation.

I find it utterly bizzare that any school would put that much focus on how students dress. It doesn't have an appreciable effect on academic performance and punishes low income families. It also limits a students ability to express themselves, which is pretty damned important in high school.

Also the "prevent people being bullied for budget clothes" excuse is dumb as shit. Why dont you just deal with the bully instead of punishing everyone

School uniforms are a joke. I got caught out wearing plain white socks to P.E instead of the $30 school sport socks. I feel awful that my mother had to fork out so much money for their proprietary shit

On our last day of High School we had everyone sign each others shirt with a farewell message. Well within an hour the Headteacher was losing his shit spouting that it was against uniform policy to graffiti onto our shirts.

Some of the first people spotted in the morning got detention on their last day, but by the end nothing could be done because everyone signed shirts anyway. Teachers included.

This. It says an awful lot about society when better-off kids bully poor kids just because they can't afford new clothes.
The shittiest part though? Nowadays it seems that wearing worn-out/dirty clothes if a fucking fashion statement that rich kids will pay good money to get. :why:
