IIRC he hasn't gotten an oscar for anything despite doing so many amazing roles
Well time for that to change. He was unbelievably convincing as Churchill.
That would run completely contrary to the themes of the movie.
That's true, I understood what they were going for with that little sub-twist but as a viewer I was just a little disappointed. I feel like a lot of my disappointment owes to the way the trailer portrayed the film compared to how the film actually turned out. I saw the trailer like 3-4 times in the theatre and it always looked like it was going to be this badass romp where this mother would go around and kick people's asses to get justice for her daughter. That scene from the trailer where [sp]she's walking up to her ex-husband with a wine bottle as if she's about to bludgeon him fizzled out into "I'm gonna be a mature-ass adult about this shit and calmly walk away"[/sp] was one of the key points where I was like, man, fuck whoever made that trailer.
