Well we don't really know, that's the problem
It takes an immense amount of anything to change the pH of the ocean because it's just so massive and well buffered.
Even though the pH has only been changed by what appears to be a small number, the amount of CO2 being taken in by the ocean is dizzying. Offsetting it using fine powder without changing the current standard of CO2 emissions, as well as not using a powder powerful enough that it won't make rapid, immediate pH changes that will shock everything in the distributed areas to death would take an immense amount of powder being distributed on like, a daily basis.
