Child's casket found on North Philadelphia sidewalk - with a bag of organs inside

... Seriously. Upon the same day Hannibal Season 2 is uploaded to Netflix?
Literally finished watching it for tonight, only to go on facepunch and see this.
A child casket full of children sized organs is Silent Hill levels of fucked up horror, and why is it just sitting in the street? I'm hoping this was an organ heist gone wrong at worst, and not something more insidious.
Why the casket though?
Fucking hell that hurts to think at. Just seeing the casket itself is almost sinister.
This is the creepiest article I've read in some time, Jesus Christ...
Embalming is something usually done for open casket funerals rather than any other time. Organs are usually removed and the body is stuffed with cotton wool, newspaper, or other materials and then embalmed. The idea is to remove as much bacteria, waste products and such from the body as possible to slow decay which is rife in organs such as the intestines and can cause corpses to bloat and explode.
The organs are usually cremated after removal.
So a body theft is entirely plausible, could even have been a mother who wasn't ready to let go of her child yet.
This is plausible, but not all embalmers use the same method when preparing a decedent. When a body undergoes autopsy, all the organs are removed and placed into a biohazard bag. Afterward, unless the deceased was a donor, the organs are place back into the Y incision on the corpse, while still in the bag.
The decedent is then transferred to a funeral home to be embalmed. The mortician will remove the organs and place them into a container full of cavity fluid to be temporarily preserved. After the embalming process is completed the organs must legally be placed back into the corpse. This is usually done by placing them back into a biohazard bag or the organs are placed into the body where a large amount of powder is placed to help absorb any left over moisture. The mortician will then suture the Y incision and complete the preservation/restoration process.
I'm guessing the body was stolen from a funeral home and either it had not yet been sutured up or the person reopened the incision and removed the bag of organs.
People are strange..
Did you also recently watch the first episode of Hannibal?
No, but it seems plausible to me.
A killer has sometimes a very intimate and passionate relationship to their victims and this includes feeling sorry for the victim and the parents.
My other theory is:
I'm wondering if this was just a case of grave defilement. Guy digs up a dead kid (there's one in the background of the picture), removes the organs and keeps the body itself, puts the organs inside the coffin and dumps it on the street.
I have read and heard of a lot of weird shit over the years, so both theories are not a big shocker.
The only thing certain is that someone dismantled a body somewhere outside (because there was dirt in between the organs) and then he put the remains into a trash bag and in a casket or back into the casket. He later put the casket in another bag and left it on the streets so somebody finds it.
