Mind if I ask why your girlfriend wants to see this movie? Because unless she just does not believe you and wants to see just how bad it could really be, I think your girlfriend might have shit taste in picking movies dude.

some people enjoy watching bad movies, this isnt anything new
Come on everyone. We all know she just wants to watch it ironically.
I got asked to go see the first Paul Blart by a family that was watching it earnestly. I was like fuck it I'll go and had a good time.
i think the only time in recent memory that i turned down an offer like that is when my dad asked me to go see the mummy remake. i politely said i wasn't interested in it and asked him back if there wasn't really anything else that he wanted to watch

Bad comedies cannot be watched ironically. This is bad movie 101.
Foodfight 2?
And Foodfight never even made it to feature presentation. This is a budget title, displayed in theaters worldwide. Even more shameful if you ask me.

You can still get a good cringe out of really bad comedies.

there was a 24/7 foodfight stream a while back that was consistently filled with people and that was extremely enjoyable
i don't plan on seeing this but if i ever had to i'd buy a ticket for a different movie and then just go into whichever room emoji movie was in
honestly, if this becomes popular to kids, you'll see elsa spider & emjoi on youtube.
and here's the thing, it's public domain.

foodfight was funny because it had terrible animation and terrible plot
i doubt the emoji movie would be funny to laugh at since the animation has some level of professionality and the plot is too generic for it to be zany

And I'll say this again; if you're paying to see Foodfight at least you're not giving your money to Sony.
There really should be regulation or something to the usage of 'be yourself' as an overall moral of a film. Its overused and an incredibly lazy moral. 7 times out of 10 it only is the moral as its easier to tack on than something with deeper meaning or that is more relevant. Then again in this case it probably wouldn't have even had a moral if they could have gotten away with it, or fit more product placement.
Granted it may be because its late/early or I may be talking out of my ass but I can't really name 7 instances where 'be yourself' being the moral was an afterthought.

what if first half of a movie was "be yourself" moral, but then midway through the main character upon getting the "be yourself" thing turns into a huge asshole and a sociopath or something and the rest of the movie's about that?
I think it's too easy to make a movie about being yourself if it's such a ridiculous and removed from real life example as this.
But when deal with issues such as as LGBT issues, or deal with racism, stereotypes... it can work really effectively there.
here's hoping common sense prevails
I hope not, because ...

... apparently giving it a 3 out of 5 is common sense.

So there's no ticked inspection at the doors there? Huh.
I really hope parents are proactive to not show their children this.
[sp]This will never happen, this movie is going to make fucking millions because of the next generation. Fuck us.[/sp]
What generation? When I was younger I saw a fair few shit movies, I was never like like "I wanna see this shit movie" because I didn't know what was on, I was too young to pay attention to that. My mum or nan or whoever would be like "we're going to see a movie today" and the movie itself was irrelevant. Which meant one time we saw the Simpsons movie, and another we saw Hollywood fucking Chihuahua. I think the problem isn't so much that kids like shit, because kids can tell the difference, but will enjoy what they're told to enjoy, but that parents will get shit for their kids because they're kids and they don't care. Movies like this aren't taking money from children, they're taking money from the parents of children. I wish people acknowledged things like Pixar movies that are great for people of all ages, saw Cars 3 last week and it was actually fairly decent. and polished fable that tells a kid-friendly but nice message, and that's one of the worst of their franchises.

What, TRON is mentioned here! This shouldn't be compared to TRON!
Why is that summary in English but the full review in Spanish.
Why is that summary in English but the full review in Spanish.
Rotten tomatoes and other review aggregate sites provide an English summery for those who want to know what the gist of the review.

I thought the blueballing part was supposed to be a joke, but it's fucking true. The girl emoji flirts with the boy emoji but then refuses him when he confesses. ouch.

Pseudo-individualism.
From my limited knowledge of Spanish, it draws a parallel with TRON because much like that movie, its world revolves mostly around the electronic one. With TRON, it's a computer and this, it's a smartphone.

Being yourself isn't so fucking simple. The self isn't just some static object, it's constantly changing. We evolve on a day-to-day basis, our identity adapting to better find and suit our place in the world.
If you just decide to "be yourself" and refuse to change, you'll get nothing, there are no free handouts. Conformity does not mean throwing away your own identity, but that's what these cheap-ass films make it sound like.
Why do I feel like it would be a good strategy to give this film a positive review and bring attention to your website/publication

A better message is to be the "best version of whatever you need to be" whenever possible
it's a much easier message to make up a plot from (since it brings out character development for free) and it's a far more positive one
Fuck that. Toxxing over the U.S. election and other stuff makes sense, but toxxing to go see the Emoji Movie, in theaters now, is a very bad idea.
I didn't say I toxxed, I said he should.
