Because the "remote" chance is so remote. It's not a thing we worry about anymore. Of course I don't want him to catch it, but he won't. He just won't. When experts in the field tell me I'm doing everything right, I listen to them and trust in their work. We're obviously not "the safest ever", as we could just be abstinent, but given the circumstances, this is our opinion and choice
Its your choice, but its dishonest to say you're being as safe as you reasonably could be

We're obviously not "the safest ever", as we could just be abstinent, but given the circumstances, this is our opinion and choice
I mean I agree with you. What I don't agree with is the notion that this whole practice of yours is backed in a zero-chance promise that it won't fail. That's just being genuinely unscientific. I do agree that the chances as they stand are virtually zero, and that there is a statistically insignificant risk to what you are doing.
Its your choice, but its dishonest to say you're being as safe as you reasonably could be
He is being as safe as he reasonably could be, because the risk of transmission is not medically significant. Wearing condoms would provide no medically significant benefit. [editline]2nd October 2017[/editline] Like why does everybody suddenly think they know better than medical consensus and the CDC?
When I asked if anybody had experiences with this sort of thing, I wasn't expecting one of the first few responses to be a callout post of another facepuncher and the big discourse that followed. Goodness.
It amazes me people in the thread think their opinion is greater than that of the CDC. His partner is at a higher chance of catching HIV from another, non-sexually related source than his partner at the moment. If in the rare occasion he lost access to his treatment, I highly doubt him and his partner would continue having unprotected sex. Regardless, it's none of our fucking business. They're adults, they know the (practically nonexistent) risk, it's their choice, not ours. He's not out there tricking people.
