apparently the script was re-written by ayer after max wrote it so his initial script might've been substantially different. i feel bad for him if that's the case
That's the way most writers operate. You get the rush of seeing your name in the credits as writer, but you get the hollowness of knowing that someone took your work and essentially butchered it as they saw fit. Sometimes it works out good. Other times, it works out bad.
The critics fucked up. It's a great movie, considering we're starving for something new.
Bright was super medicore, but I'd love to see a series set in this world rather than another movie. A videogame would be super cool too. People circlejerking so hard this being the worst movie of the year must have ripped their cocks off and have no idea what an actually bad movie is anymore due to blood loss.
The critics fucked up. Reminds me of how Elysium was basically just a really predictable analogy for the apartheid behind all the sci-fi elements and whatnot. It kind of just reuses shit that other media have used (often times better than Bright) and bundles it all together in one film.
Have you heard of Shadowrun my dude
"Have you heard of an obscure tabletop game with a few lackluster video game adaptations?"
"Have you heard of an obscure tabletop game with a few lackluster video game adaptations?"
yo shadowrun's the shit man, more people should know about it
"Have you heard of an obscure tabletop game with a few lackluster video game adaptations?"
Shadowrun Dragonfall and Hong Kong are legitimately great and I will fight you on this.
Shadowrun Dragonfall and Hong Kong are legitimately great and I will fight you on this.
Even the SNES and Genesis versions are great.
Shame. I love the idea of fantasy-world in modern times
I don't think I've ever seen this idea pulled off well so my perception of it is tainted. I'd rather see some fantasy-future stuff, like the premise of the Skyfactory mod in Minecraft where everyone's using jetpacks and shit to fight dragons. It's so dumb it's fantastic.
the background worldbuilding in bright is great Wyverns in the LA skyline [t]https://i.imgur.com/7E2s2ye.jpg[/t] dwarf cops [t]https://i.imgur.com/Nwed7Rt.jpg[/t] dumb pest removal posters [t]https://i.imgur.com/dx5cpwn.png[/t] there's alot of care put into the sets and people on the set. its pretty awesome. i dont have the pics on me but you see lizard people in the background you would of never seen if you wernt looking for it and a bunch of other cool shit

The pace, and narrative delivery is fresh. The action and even just general look of the movie was on point. I get that it's not some *From the ground up NEW* idea...those don't exist. All we ever do is build on what's known into something new. I don't need anything more than that.
just gave up on watching it, there's cool ideas in it like the awkward orc rookie and grizzled beat cop will smith thing would've probably been an alright movie but instead they focused on bad worldbuilding
I liked Bright. Guess I have shit taste.
Even the SNES and Genesis versions are great.
Someone was trying to remake them with the campaign tools the first game came with, I wonder what happened to that.
Someone was trying to remake them with the campaign tools the first game came with, I wonder what happened to that.
Hopefully they ported their efforts over to Hong Kong. The mechanics in that game beat out Returns in pretty much every way. I've heard the tools are less stable, though; but if people can put up with modding Bethesda games, they should be able to truck through the Hong Kong editor's issues. :v:
This movie is pretty fucking good, and the critics shitting on this yet universally praising the last jedi show just how out of touch they are.
This movie is pretty fucking good, and the critics shitting on this yet universally praising the last jedi show just how out of touch they are.
Or you have shit taste in movies. Also a possibility. But nah, shit on critics instead. That's much easier.
Or, maybe-- and this is a fresh idea-- critics and general audiences have different expectations of what they want in their modern motion pictures, and thus relying on the extremely subjective scores and opinions of "good or bad" is far less useful than just using the reviews' dissection of the elements of the movie to come to your own decision as to whether or not you want to watch it?
Just watched it. I liked it tbqh
Just watched it as well, it wasn't a bad movie at all. The action scenes were fun and the characters were likable enough.
It's an easy to consume, easily marketable movie (not a bad thing) so it's no surprise a lot of people are enjoying it and it's been a success for Netflix so far it seems. I personally thought it was pretty bad, but I'm willing to watch a sequel to see where they go with it. Definitely doesn't deserve a 4.3/5 like on Rotten Tomatoes.
