That's interesting, although I was talking about the generalized lack of care about people, not women specifically... then again, this issue isn't just one in India, China seems to share it as well. You constantly get stories about people doing things that are absolutely horrifying from those countries (slowly pushing through crowds with a car, ignoring somebody who has been horrifically injured, public rapes, etc).
but isnt india a partly muslim country? its well knows alot of muslims rape children..

What would drive a person to do this to a child? That kid is going to be messed up for life, as are the parents in all likelihood. I'm not even sure what sort of life the baby could have even if she recovers.

There's no explanation that could humanize this person to empathize with him - what he did was monstrous. The child is still young, but the scars/long lasting damages of this accident is something they'll have to carry with them to adulthood for no fault of their own, which is terrible. Heck, it might even impact this little one to have children of her own. :frown:

It was a mistake and negligence on the babysitter's (who was known to the parents).

This doesn't deviate all that much from that, unfortunately - the key thing of note here is the age of the victim, which is what makes it so incomprehensible. I'm pretty sure that the woman whose son did this must be a wreck, knowing that a) this happened under her watch and b) Her son is a monster.

what I meant is how do you get to the point where you would want to do this?
I hope that at a minimum the child won't have memories of this event. Maybe she can grow up without such a monsterious event weighing her down.

It really depends on how you see pedophilia, specifically, untreated/unacknowledged pedophilia, really. There's a massive stigma against mental illness, so if you see pedophilia as a mental illness (I don't know whether it's actually classified as one), then you can understand how this happened. Trying to get inside the mind of someone with non-normal behavior like this, to search for a meaningful reason, is an exercise in futility. I thought about it a lot after that whole rape case in 2012 where one of them pulled the victim's intestines out through her vagina with a rod. I realized that I'm not nearly sick/deranged enough to even think of a thought pattern that works, so I left it. I'd suggest you do the same. 'Tis a dark and terrible place.
