The first couple years were the high point for me (Toa, Toa Nuva, Bohrok, Toa Metru, Rahkshi, Rahi). Towards the end it felt like they didn't know what to do. I did buy all of the Bionicle Stars sets since they were basically the greatest hits of the series.
The revival definitely fell short and didn't last long.
They really fucked up when they stopped calling it bionicle that one time
