Wow, verification on these exchanges are taking ages, I was planning on buying a few LTC last night st $350 each, just for it to jump $100
[editline]12th December 2017[/editline]
Seriously, by the time it takes me to get verified, price will probably jump a few hundred more.
Can anyone recommend somewhere that doesnt take ages to get verified and works in Canada?
These companies are regulated like any actual financial exchange (e.g. with stocks) so it's unlikely.
Do people think the price is gonna go up or down?

Trying to use Coinbase, it tells me to "try again in 15 mins to verify" so I do that, and now apparently I have attempted too many times to verify my ID today, so now I have to wait 24 hours.
Coinbase verification process is absolute garbage, I've tried 4-5 times and it always fail to recognize my ID. Maybe you could look for alternatives such as coinsquare.io
Try when the price isn't exploding :v:
It happens with each big rally.
Now that all the cryptos are exploding coinbase has just become unreliable awfulness for me. Half the time when I actually want to sell I'll refresh the page and have "litecoin sell/buys are temporarily disabled" at the top of the page.

I was trying early yesterday before price exploding, and same issue.

You can't cash out with coinbase in Canada, anyway.
Once you get quadriga verified, use that. It's very reliable, I haven't seen it crash at all during high trading volumes.
No guys you get it all wrong, cryptocurency is really handy, easy to use, fast and anonymous!
Really useful stuff!
I just played a game of Dota and some guy was advertising and encouraging people to buy litecoins
I REALLY fucking hope the bubbles don't pop before my last purchase goes through, so I can sell at a win.
[editline]12th December 2017[/editline]
I.E. one week from now.
Should I sell now? In a few days? Or should I wait the full week?
wow this is actually kinda scary
LTC has treated me very well. Turned $200 into $1,200 then again $1,000 to $3,000. Patience is key, but I do fear it's people pumping into this because of fomo reasons.
I didn't have any dramas with Coinbase, they confirmed my ID within an hour. Probably not best to try to jump in while things are busy.
Im going to sell half of everything, that way I still turn a sizeable profit immediately so I don't worry about the bubble so much
if you guys are buying through coinbase, don't.
sign up for coinbase, verify yourself there (add your address, go to settings >limits and verify identity there too), then go to gdax and sign in there. It's the same log-in and gdax is their newer market. Transaction fees are much lower/free

GDAX sucks dick (for me anyway).
Asks to submit documents which failed (even though Coinbase went through fine with them) and then asks to take photo using webcam (Which is too much fucking effort to look for as it's fucked somewhere away in shed).
+ it says: "ETH/USD trading is not yet available in your region."
Coinbase works perfectly though and verification took about 20 mins.

apparently verifying through coinbase removes the steps for verification in gdax, or at least that's what i've read so far. I've also heard some people getting easier results by tweeting at them.
Worth noting that both coinbase and GDAX are reporting ID verification issues currently. They have been struggling the last few days with the sudden hype
The more rallies I see the more I am afraid of a burst. Like BTC I can see going up because maybe people see it as the future standard, but Litecoin and Ethereum? I can't help but think only one of these will be the "one" to rule digital currency and once that happens there will be a big crash, but fuck it who knows what the future holds with these. I have no problem with buying a little of each and just holding for 2018.

Will give it another try tomorrow, I assume GDAX is same as Coinbase in terms of storing 3 main currencies?

Ethereum serves a completely different purpose from bitcoin and litecoin.
Should probably avoid speculating on stuff like this without learning about it first.

Crypto's been exploding for past 2 weeks my guy

Research their uses first.
BTC is a store of value akin to gold.
Litecoin is for everyday transactions.
ETH is for business smart contracts etc.

more or less. I store them in a desktop wallet rather than online though
I was considering investing in LTC back in February where I had $1200 saved up, but I bought some IKEA furniture instead .
To think I could have a house and IKEA furniture if I sold today. Every time I think to invest, I think it will crash or
never go up, and here I am now with a thumb up my ass while I sit on IKEA sheets that could of been worth a new car.
All-in-all, buy some fucking coins ya dinguses.
Do people think the price is gonna go up or down?
I think it will keep going up for a while for people's fear of missing out, but Bitcoin's high fees and slow transaction times make it useless in any realistic manner so I think eventually it will be dethroned and lose its value.
Coinbase never required me to do any verification, it was a bit odd.
This was months ago though.
what's a lightweight wallet that i can download, having the entire 153.9 gb blockchain on my computer seems ridiculous for the $1 of bitcoin i have but i also don't want to get rid of that $1 for some reason. electrum wallet is making chrome and malwarebytes go nuts.
EDIT
figured out how to enable pruning it, now i can actually install shit again

So probs not something to invest in?
So probs not something to invest in?
Here's the thing, something like bitcoin literally never happened before, so nobody knows what's actually going to happen.
I'd say go for it. Even though I spectacularly failed as riding the waves, I've never lost any $ I put into it. Don't panic sell. Buy a little bit, see how it goes for a month, then you can decide.
I'm personally going to double-down on bitcoin myself, gonna get some miners. (If someone wants to invest in me, I'll pay you back twice the money you give me lolololol) Though that's probably because I'm a impulsive and optimistic idiot and you shouldn't listen to anything I say.
Dumb question... how do you do that?
[editline]13th December 2017[/editline]
(buy/invest or whatever (God i'm a newb))

Save up a good amount, put 95% into the stock/bond market. Then spend what's left goofing off with crypto.
Please don't put all your savings into crypto.
