Well, it seems I might have to reconsider moving to Germany Ah fuck Now I have to go and check which zones won't be affected or flooded thanks to the effort of people like Trump and learn the language which is spoken there I hope New Zealand is one of those places. Having learnt English and then German was already hard.

I live in greater Houston area. Floodwater was up to my street when it never had been before, not even on the Memorial Day or tax day floods which had got parts of the neighborhoods surrounding us. No water got in the house but another foot or two would have done it, even less for my friend that lives down the street. We felt pretty lucky when Harvey finally veered off to the East. It didn't seem like it was going anywhere for the longest time. I'm going to keep trying to convince my parents to sell the house to some climate denier and move somewhere like Colorado. I had been getting the feeling that some big event like this would come along and tank the property values of the whole city. I guess people are pretty slow on the uptake for the time being. It will probably take a few storms like this before people realize our city is completely f'ed.
