takes much more than that to have a festival
I'm just saying, to those who apparently do not listen to female artists for some reason

Too many of them seem to thread the dull and safe path of pop or pop derived.
She said it would take place "until all men have learned how to behave".
Maybe you should broaden your musical horizons a little? I don't seem to have any issues finding bands with female singers. Besides, what does your opinion of pop music have to do with anything?
I wonder how many of you glossed over her title: comedian.
No fleshy meatbags allowed.
[sp]Oh.. She's using the term man for the male sex and not as a collective for our species. aww I wanted robot concerts! :c[/sp]
-Wrong thread whoops-
when i read the title i thought it meant no human performers or whatever and that sounded so cool compared to what i got
who gives a shit, it just means it'll be unprofitable.

as a Womyn i can safely say if someone invited me to this i'd tell them to stick it (and the entire venue and all of its contents) up their arse. fucks sake the whole point is to make everyone equal not to single certain people out as More Specialerest

I dunno what's wrong with me, it's not that I haven't heard music by females, it's just that I hate it or it makes me feel awful or bored? I don't know why, but yeah, no positive emotion or empathy whatsoever, just feelings of "boy I'd rather listen to anything else". And I'm clearly not alone.
Female comedian is an even harder thing for me to get into. In fact I can't even name any that I am genuinely into. I respect a few for what they've achieved, but couldn't tell you a notable bit I've heard from them.
It's typical that my mindset would be hateful or narrow or both though, that's normal for me. I pretty much have only negative emotion towards pretty much everything. Even the music I like that's made by men and is about men's problems still makes me cry even though I technically "like" it. I'm the problem.
Guess who is identifying as a lesbian woman for 1 weekend next year?
This guy.
Yeah I wonder what the reaction would be to a german comedian going "What do you think about putting together a really cool festival where only non-muslims are welcome, that we'll run until ALL muslims have learned how to behave themselves?"
There aren't any men in sweden anyway so it's fine -a dane :v:
Seriously though, her loss, if she wants less money so be it.
I came here thinking it would be a concert making fun of DJs by having no DJs on stage.
When I heard this on the news on Swedish TV I thought I misheard. This is an incredibly dumb idea, totally not going to backfire if it actually gets executed.
Don't worry. I highly doubt that this will ever actually be carried out.
I wonder if I could get in if I just said I'm trans-something
I expect people to keep saying stupid shit on the internet until the end of time so the statement itself doesn't bother me much, but rather how acceptable it has become in our culture to hate and blame men in a way that would be in no way acceptable and could even get you punished in court if you said the same for any other group of people. There are actual laws against this but no one seems to care, or even worse, it's often celebrated.
What are women like these so salty about?
Too many of them seem to thread the dull and safe path of pop or pop derived.
You mean just like most men? I don't doubt that there are many more recognizable men than women but maybe that says more about the nature of the industry and honestly the people here aren't helping prove how dumb this statement at hand is by what they're saying.

It's like most laws regarding discrimination, they're rarely enforced. And I'd like to argue that this dumb mentality that you can hate on men and blame them is only an extreme that exists in certain circles but isn't at all widely accepted or celebrated, thankfully.

Hmm?
This "man-free" event is only evidence for how pervasive and toxic feminism has become in which demonising men is a common theme among its cult members.
This event and it's organizers are sexist towards men and if this were the other way around (men only music event) then the feminists would be coming out of the woodwork to cry sexism and "the patriarchy".
I can't wait for kids to study the 2010's in history in the future and see how fucking retarded we were.
It's still not news. Which makes it more of an excuse for some posters to attack all of Sweden.
It's not news, but it's still quite surprising to see all the people on the front page who support the spirit of her evemt, if not the event itself.

I don't think feminist extremists is the most retarded thing to happen to us this year, let alone this decade.

you should probably seek therapy
[editline]7th July 2017[/editline]
also to answer all the people going "what's the point of this" well the answer is "women are commonly raped at music festivals".
don't see much outrage over that compared to the outrage that men might not be allowed into a music festival they likely wouldn't want to go to anyway.

The solution to a problem like that isn't to outright ban males from paying and attending the music festival but rather to step up security and take more preventive measures to curb incidents like that.
It's quite sexist to prevent males from attending an event simply for being male and if this were the other way around we would watching the feminists come out of the woodwork in droves to protest the event, it's organizers, and "the patriarchy".
To be quite fair, I think men have it worse than women which is only evident by the statistics I see everyday whether that be the suicide rate of men (80%) vs women or the funding of cancer research for men vs women (15 times more funding). Of course though it's rare to hear a feminist speak of mens issues and quite common for them to silence those who do.
If I were a man who really wanted to go to this festival, unlikely I know, but still, I would just identify as a woman.

They would probably kick you out for having a penis anyway no matter what gender you identify as.
This male hating attitude is quite bizarre and it's one that's shared by even some on Facepunch (a few above posters including those on other threads). It's obvious not only to myself but also to many others that these people need to seek some kind of counseling and get their shit in order instead of hating on males and blaming them for the ills in this world.
The way she puts it makes it seem more like she just wants to see the reactions to proposing the idea rather than wanting to actually go through with it

I'm very curious as to who in this thread are taking part of this male hating attitude

I don't think we need to make this into a persecution contest. Is it really so hard to acknowledge the problems that both sexes experience without creating these clashing factions and creating conflict where there doesn't need to be any?

You're missing the part about how this in any way solves that problem.

Danes talking shit about Sweden
THAT'S RICH
[editline]7th July 2017[/editline]
On-topic though:
This concept isn't new. We've had something called "Ladies Night" in Sweden since 2006. It's a musical event audience-members are strictly female, and they get upwards 60,000 visitors every year. It's on a smaller scale than this idea, and the musicians are typically male, but the idea is similar.
So I'm fine with this. Nothing more than a grander version of a "girls night only" at a pub, and a more elaborate "Ladies Night". Getting upset over this is kind of ridiculous.
