In all seriousness, I can't comprehend that anyone with a healthy social life has never heard this song
Every Furious 7/Paul Walker fanboy has listened to this on repeat for hours every night while crying.
not every night :(
Welcome to the Top 40
That's the thing I don't understand like NO ONE listens to this song anymore, how is it just now surpassing Gangnam Style?
This song was best-selling worldwide in 2015, Fast 7 was in theaters then two years ago and it's only now becoming the most popular music video ever? How is that possible? Psy got there essentially by becoming a meme, if this song was a meme then why wasn't it this popular back when people actually listened to it?

Pretty much this. It has been played at most parties I've been to after the release, especially just after the initial release. It plays on radios and it was covered on the news right after the release of FF7. A lot of my friends also discussed it after the release. Not sure how anyone could have missed it, but fair enough.
After a certain point I'm positive people were watching it simply because it was possible to beat Gangham if they did so. Happens all the time in media.
Yeah for real how did you guys get away from this song clutches
How have most of you avoided this song
It's one of those songs I know exists and have heard a few times but would never listen to of my own accord. And all my friends are music nerds.
Don't know why it did tbh
This 1s for da family
+respect
I worked in a retail store so I unquestionably hate this fucking song
but I'll take fucking anything over shitty obnoxious Gangnam Style
I have never heard this song. But I never listen to the radio, I don't pay attention to music while I'm out and none of my friends are into this kind of music. Seems pretty easy to avoid honestly.
How is that possible?
Are you ever outside in like a mall or anything?
Never heard it either and I work in a fucking mall.
I think I've heard this song before tbh, but it's so bland and uninteresting that I probably didn't register it at all.
I think it was this song and Uptown Funk that played pretty much back-to-back at the store I worked at at the time. I wonder what songs we're ruining for retail employees these days.

A while ago at the retail store I work at, they played It's Raining Men about three times every hour.
I probably have heard it, but its so musically uninteresting to me that it doesn't sound any different from any other song. Never saw Furious 7 either so I never made that connection.

people who have friends that listen exclusively to curated streaming services and don't go shopping at places that blare top 40 garbage
I hope Gangam Style is pushed back on top.

I don't listen to the radio, I listen to Pandora. I'm also not a fan of Wiz Khalifa, or the genre he performs, in general, so I've no reason to look into anything of the sort. I might have heard it, but just as background music, like many, many songs I might have heard but never looked up or actually listened to.
it's more of a pop song than hip-hop. there were even radio stations that removed wiz's verses and just played it as a pop song
fun fact: eminem and 50 cent were originally going to be on this song but they turned it down
How have most of you avoided this song
I'm not sure I haven't heard this song before. Like I'm not trying to shit on music or modern music before but the beat sounds like another song I've heard, or I just might have forgot it.
It was released in 2015, at that time I lived in shitty Canadian redneck territory where the radio stations are underfunded and they usually only play rock songs that have broadcasting rights that are easier to acquire than modern hit songs. Doubly so when there are broadcasting regulations dictating that there must be at least 35% of the songs played during the week must be Canadian.
I'm not a music person, either. If a good song comes along I like it and even then I wouldn't actively listen to it except in very very very rare scenarios where the music is just really good or is attached to some feeling.

you dont even have to have a healthy social life, you just have to not shut your self in your room all day. go out to the store or something, this song will probably be playing

what do they blare where you shop? dream theater or something?
I wouldn't be surprised if everybody in the thread had heard it, but it's so bland they all forgot.
I am extremely surprised I've never heard this song before.
Seriously? If I could go my entire life without hearing it again I would be estatic. Completely overplayed on every radio station around me
Yeah, it's strange. I've heard this song maybe a couple of times but I didn't think it had anywhere near the popularity of Gangnam Style, haven't even heard it a fraction of the times I've heard Gangnam Style, which is why I'm surprised it got this achievement
people who have friends that listen exclusively to curated streaming services and don't go shopping at places that blare top 40 garbage
So you and your friends dont go outside
I'm glad that was the first and last time I'll ever listen to it.
Tired of this generic radio-friendly crap.
why is it so popular tbh

Why do so many of you say this
Are we supposed to be in awe that you don't go outside to popular stores or something
I'm always surprised how many people that don't understand the concept of different tastes.
