What's the difference? All I can see is they made everything black and added what looks like an air vent.
Second level door pockets, buttons on the steering wheel, bigger cup holders and looks like you can pull them up to use as more general storage space, looks like they changed the design of the front 2 storage pockets in the centre console to allow for easier access as well. Also added some lines to the design on the doors so they look less plain.

Given the fakeout Tesla pulled with the Model X mules versus the final reveal version I still feel like they haven't shown their full hand. A Model 3 RC was also spotted recently with the entire roof covered while driving. I know it seems like we know everything about the car at this point but I'm still reserving full judgement for the final unveil.

I'd be okay with it as is though. Personally I just want to know how much AP and FSD costs.

I liked the sharper nose the pre-production unveil models had.
I liked the sharper nose the pre-production unveil models had.
Looked like a shark. [t]https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0196/5170/files/tesla-model-3-matte-black-2_grande.png?11412025557071878093[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/LtMK4Q2.jpg[/t]
I'll wait until they give it the same grill the Model X and the new model S has
I don't think they will, to help differentiate between the 3 from the S.
:rrerr: [editline]9th July 2017[/editline] muh merge
The older nose looked better on black I think, but the new one seems to look quite good with lighter colours: [t]https://i1.wp.com/electrek.files.wordpress.com/2017/06/32-3g7eyxwtesla-model-3-silver.jpg[/t]

Eh, someone will mod it back eventually.

Eh, someone will mod it back eventually.
General HUD mods are readily available for basic info like cars, it just gets data from the OBD2 interface. Assuming the Model 3 has the same diagnostic connector that the Model S has then it's easy enough to make an adapter for a regular OBD2 bluetooth adapter to work. [editline]9th July 2017[/editline] Whoever makes a Tesla specific HUD with range and stuff would probably be able to sell quite a few to early adopters that are a bit sheepish about the lack of a instrument display. Demand probably wouldn't keep up though when people figure it out.
Is that the Model 3?!
Yes. Yes it is. If I was able to buy one, It would be this exact model: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/vR21tsY.jpg[/img_thumb] Maybe with getting a matte silver wrap later on too.

Is this the one with the solar roof?
Is this the one with the solar roof?
[del]No Tesla has a solar roof. You're probably thinking about the Fisker Karma.[/del] Yes... apparently..
I am curious if Tesla has something planned for the anticipated initial wave of teething problems the first batch or two of cars will have. You know there will be something people will nitpick about.
I am curious if Tesla has something planned for the anticipated initial wave of teething problems the first batch or two of cars will have. Think it was like... 4 paint colors, some rims, interior colors, rear wheel drive only, etc. Kind of sucks if you were one of the first to order but want something not optioned. Though they'll bump those orders to priority once those options are available. Doesn't matter to me because I wouldn't be able to get one for a few years anyway.
No Tesla has a solar roof. You're probably thinking about the Fisker Karma.
Elon tweeted they're working on a solar roof option for the 3. Only options for the first batch are exterior color and rims, which means I'll be waiting a while as I'm holding out for AWD performance.
Imagine one day when solar panels becomes good enough it's all you would need to charge your car while driving. Just had a strange thought that fuel stations are going to struggle in 10 years time if this demand keeps up
I think the solar roof thing is probably one of Musk's more silly ideas. Good to offset vampire drain but I can't imagine it ever paying for itself. But Musk has a way of turning these previously poorly executed ideas into something good so maybe.
I've always been under the impression that there's simply not enough real estate on the roof of a car for a solar panel to be effective.
Isn't one of the issues that the extra weight of the solar panel pretty much offsets any extra energy you get?
Isn't one of the issues that the extra weight of the solar panel pretty much offsets any extra energy you get?
It's probably not any heavier than the pure glass roof, or the steel roof. Unless they put it on top of the other panels I don't think weight should be too much of an issue. It would generate some power but not a whole lot. The leaf has the option but it's just a small panel at the back for topping up the 12v battery. I think Musk is talking about a full roof sized panel. I guess in theory you could get a couple of miles per hour of charge out of it, which could be nice if you park up for work all day in the sun.
