It just doesn't apply in any way in the case of flat earthers. Flat earth belief has more to do with the political structure of the US, and lots of them are heavily religious. You're pretty much saying that there's like a conspiracyception going on here, where the conspiracy theorists themselves are the conspiracy. v:v:v
My faith in humanity would be so much stronger if all this conspiracy bullshit was the result of :bullshit: for the sake of a grand strategy and not the result of :tinfoil:wearers and :conspiratard:s spontaneously generating and spreading these self-destructive and retarded ideas for reason other than sheer superstition

Just lower your expectations, and you'll slowly forget the whole "faith in humanity" meme.
Most conspiracies can be refuted by asking why. So who exactly benefits from the earth being flat? Globe salesman?
Except that these people already consider these conspiracies to be true. Everything else is either proof of what they already believe, or proof of a cover-up, which also helps to prove what they already believe.
At this point I bloody swear that all these anti-science movements were started by Russia, because they're the ones that stand to benefit. Anti-vax? Make the american populace vulnerable to disease and resistant against proper medicine. Flat earth movement? Decreased public faith in NASA, weakening US space development. Anti-intelligence in general? Lower the talent pool that the US can draw from and overall increase vulnerability to propaganda America has always had the technological edge and Russia knows it. Anti-science is a great way to damage that edge
Nah this is just american stupidity, and just stupidity of the human race in general. I mean this shit goes back to the middle ages and whatnot, you had tons of people who thought the sun revolved around the earth, and other shit like that. A lot of it is simply mistrust in the government, and human arrogance. You see this with a lot of things involving politics as well, where people think they know everything because they read a few conspiracy theories. Plus, theres that whole 'the more time and effort someone invests into something, the more they want to believe it, even if its proven false' ordeal. People are just dumb. Not like I'm some shining star or anything but I can see that shit clear as day.
Have none of these celebrities flown on a plane before? Have none of them gone around the world? How can anyone in 2017 believe the world to be flat?
Have none of these celebrities flown on a plane before? Have none of them gone around the world?
Because in our day to day life, we have no way of directly seeing the earth in front of us as a ball, and some people are just insane enough to believe that everything is fabricated in order to fool them.
But how do you explain that going directly East will eventually bring you back to where you started? If the Earth was flat you would see a very obvious edge of the world.

And even if you're able to maintain a complete tightness without causing it to fray, would it not bend downwards naturally due to gravity and the weight of the rope in the middle? It would be better to take something more rigid like a metallic pole.
But how do you explain that going directly East will eventually bring you back to where you started? If the Earth was flat you would see a very obvious edge of the world.
You're actually going in a circle :^) Basically no matter what you say to them, they have a whole arsenal of quick rebuttals that can't be disproven there and then. Being a flat earther is all about winning pointless arguments. There is of course some questions that you'll easily stuck most of them on though. For instance, why do the stars spin in the opposite direction in the southern and northern hemisphere? I've yet to have anyone try to come up with something to explain that.

Anything that tries to get past that hologram hits the forcefield, which is what destroyed Challnger and Columbia.

You absolutely can see the curve and the horizon is it On a flat Earth, there shouldn't be a horizon. The higher you go, the further you should be able to see. With sufficiently powerful optics and a high enough point to observe from, you should be able to see the Earth in its entirety This is usually dismissed as something like refraction, which really just kind of demonstrates the willful ignorance required to believe in the whole flat Earth thing
I vote we launch all flat earthers into space.
Wonder what would happen if you picked the most reasonable (as flat-earthers go) well-known FEer and sent them up. Would it have an effect on global believer numbers or just get dismissed as fake / bought?

I feel like this is memes getting out of hand like internet facism, but less harmful (at least for now)
But how do you explain that going directly East will eventually bring you back to where you started? If the Earth was flat you would see a very obvious edge of the world.
Government/Illuminati run portals that seamlessly teleport anyone who reaches the edge of the Earth to the other side. The original Pac-Man was a subtle hint by the Powers That Be as to how this technology actually works but the world was too blind to see the truth behind it.
Sounds great, there's definitely cheaper ways to detect if the world is flat, but I wouldn't stop the guy if it finally creates some solid proof for flat-earthers.
Nah man, the NASA anti air batteries that they keep beyond the ice wall will just shoot down the satellites. seriously though, how on god's green earth can you get a satilite into space for less than the price of a mclaren? And that's presuming that satellites would work on a flat earth, which they wouldn't, because orbits are just perpetual falling "past" the globe. I don't know how a satilite would work in the flat earther's world. Cover it in velcro and throw it at the dome i guess?
You're actually going in a circle :^) Basically no matter what you say to them, they have a whole arsenal of quick rebuttals that can't be disproven there and then. Being a flat earther is all about winning pointless arguments.
Sure you can, there's all sorts of basic ass little experiments that any one individual could do to prove that the scientific model of the universe is true. This guy explains it all better than i possibly could, since math isn't really my thing.
What's the point, even if his experiment proves the earth is round his prior bias will lead him to reject the findings and blame NASA's hologram projector or something.
He's a con artist trying to pull a scam, simple as.
