https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9xmnWmC88tBFnYPVdHg2EQ I need to rewrite it. The SSD the spaghetti script I wrote to do this died. I had it to where I could just fill a folder up with mp3s and then it would scrape Reddit for anime wallpapers, speed the audio up, create a video, then upload it to YT automatically using their API.
[thumb]https://i.imgur.com/Nt3tr4a.png[/thumb] [thumb]https://i.imgur.com/sTPHI85.jpg[/thumb]
It's not like Google corp. is gonna do something. They would need to care about their customers to listen to feedback.
They do care about their customers. The problem is that there are three kinds of customers: Advertisers, Content Creators, and viewers. Advertisers have a lot of influence because they're the only ones (outside of YouTube Red users) actually paying into the system. Trust me when I say that the demonetization shit is solely because of advertiser demands. If YouTube didn't have to worry about demonetization their job would be a lot fucking easier. Viewers and content creators are also very hard to satisfy. Everyone got pissed off when those wierd videos targeted at kids started proliferating. Well, the only way to deal with that is to use a ML algorithm to try to stop those videos. YouTube tried crowdsourcing content police ("YouTube Heroes") but everyone hated that as well, and you're never going to hire enough people to manually review each video. So you use the algorithm. But now the algorithm accidentally banned Idubz or some shitter, his fans are pissed. So your options are A. Remove the algorithmic policing, but now you're getting all sorts of wierd shit like gore videos, snuff films, those wierd kid videos, which will lead to public outcry in the future from both advertisers and regular viewers, B. Try to crowdsource content policing, which will also lead to outcry from content creators and viewers, or C. Keep things going algorithmically and have users/content creators get pissed when it fucks up. It's a lose-lose situation in terms of public perception. This is a problem that would be inherent to any large video platform. The only reason PornHub seems so cool is because they don't have to give a fuck about what's on their platform. Their advertisers are Brazzers and Astroglide, not Coca Cola and Ford. The moment they had mainstream advertisers offering them big bucks, but only if their content is acceptable, they'd start doing the same shit on their platform. tl;dr Any large video hosting site generating revenue from advertisers has to balance the demands of viewers, content creators, and advertisers. This is something inherent to the space, and no one will end up completely happy at the end of the day.
nearly a decade a ago, when I was still in middle school, I made a terrible youtube poop esque video with windows movie maker. I shared it with my friends, and got a total of 8 views on that video that day. then 8 years later, when I am well in college and have long since forgotten about the video I made, I get an email saying that I received a copy right strike for using someones music. the video was mute, I didnt know how to manage sounds settings back then. the video still had 8 views.
link?
I have a dumb video on my channel that was claimed 5 times for having a Shepard tone in it.
through the power of their upvotes and downvotes.
That worked out so well on Reddit.
I once uploaded a Mario kart 8 video from Nintendo's Mario kart 8 uploader and it got flagged by Nintendo the next day. Like, what? :v:
I once uploaded a Mario kart 8 video from Nintendo's Mario kart 8 uploader and it got flagged by Nintendo the next day. Like, what? :v:
I think Nintendo automatically files copyright on any video that has footage from any of their games
d.tube has a great premise, being decentralized and all, although I'm not sure that will be enough
Sounds like a great place for someone to upload child porn, and now suddenly everyone has child porn on their computer.
